Howell described him as being likely to come back on Saturday. - Ijaha and Bernard were both on the bench during mid-week due to carrying injuries (or in Bernard's case, illness). Howell has suggested that both will be fully available to contend for a starting place on Saturday. The City Archives - FA Cup versus Hillingdon Borough, 1994[/u]
We have a new feature to place alongside our previews this season, as one of Saints Chat's regular posters, Brummie, delves into the history books to provide us with match reports from the past. This gives a chance to walk down memory lane, or learn a little about City's past, before the next match in the present!
This time, Brummie has given us a typed report of an FA Cup tie between St. Albans City and Hillingdon Borough in 1994.
Thanks, as always, go to Brummie for delving into the City Archives to provide us with an interesting read alongside our usual match previews!

That's a shame! It looked like a strong clash of head's when seeing it on first viewing. Must say that Cutchey did well filling in at RB.

What a game! Fantastic comeback! Well done you Saints! Gaz says 'never stop believing' but I had honestly given up hope after Oxford City went 2-0 up with roughly half-an-hour to go. Sakho and Shields changed the game for us when they came on! Once we pulled one back, we looked like a different team. However, I still didn't dare think that we'd go on to win it! Excellent atmosphere at CP as well. It was great to see the fans getting behind the team. Great scenes at the end of the match. All in all, fantastic entertainment and a brilliant comeback!

What a comeback. Just four points off the play-offs now! The 3 teams above us all have 3 games in hand though. My checklist is slowly being ticked off though as we go through the season, only really wanted to achieve 4 of them. 1. Not to get relegated 2. Finish in the top half 3. Not to be the worst defence in the league 4. Get a plus goal difference 5. Make th play-offs 6. Get promoted So looking good so far.

To all who couldn't make it to the game for important reasons I say unlucky,to all those who just couldn't be bothered I say you missed a great football experience. After sixty minutes we were dead and buried, cold in the ground, the last rites had been read, the roses layed down. Then from the sidelines came our saviour, today wearing number sixteen - SAKHO BAKARE. Four hundred and fourteen devotees witnessed one of the greatest resurrections of recent times. We will follow our heroes onward to Evesham.
