The two fixtures of note there are Poole v Chesham and Stourbridge v Bideford.
Poole are undefeated at home but tend to draw against the higher placed teams; Chesham's away record shows a few defeats against top half teams but good results in the two against the top 7.
Poole v Chesham = Draw
Bideford have largely drawn against the top half teams away and Stourbridge have a mixture of wins and defeats.
Stourbridge v Bideford Draw
We have St Neots and Arlesey both at home.
Let's assume all other games are wins for playoff teams which seems reasonable.
That would leave the playoffs as...
Hemel... Cambridge Pl 27 Pts 58 Chesham Pl 28 Pts 56 Bideford Pl 29 Pts 53 Stourbridge Pl 27 Pts 50 The Saints Pl 25 Pts 50 Poole Pl 23 Pts 50
Stourbridge could overtake us on goal difference.
Goal difference could be a key factor this season so the two two-goal victories against the weakest sides in the league could prove crucial at the end of the season.

We just have to ensure that regardless of how we play that we win all our games. No sweat. Then the playoffs are a cert. takes goal diff out of the equation

Why aren't Cambridge playing on the 25th ?
Straight after those 2 games Cambridge have Hemel (A) and Bideford (H)
I think our two games against Arseley (H 25/1 & A 4/2) and the double header against Bideford (H 10/2 & A 15/2) will really shape our season.

Why aren't Cambridge playing on the 25th ? They were originally due to be playing Hinckley Utd at home on that date.

While the games against the other leading sides in the division that people highlight are obviously very important I just get the feeling that our capacity to consistency pick up results in relatively 'easy' games will ultimately determine our season. We got 9 games at home against teams outside the top 7 that we should win. if we can be consistent and win them I think we can pick up enough additional on the road and in our more difficult home fixtures. We just got to make sure we approach every fixture with the same intensity and avoid any stupid results. If we do not make the play-offs I get feeling that it be a home game against chippenham/reddich or the like we end up rueing. Obviously, its a very different level but I remember some of Ferguson title winning sides really struggled against their primary opponents but won by just churning out the results against everyone else
A slight non-sequitur but does anyone what happening with Poole ground?

The decision over their ground will be made at the end of March.

If you read their wikipedia page then their entire history is littered with non-promotions due to ground issues, I can't believe that rope round a school pitch, porta cabins for bars and changing rooms and temp fencing to enclose the ground is good enough for Conf South

I see Poole's home game today is postponed. They've only played 8 at home, so have a lot to catch up.

I'm not sure if if will have, as the decision isn't meant to be made for another two months.

I'm sure they'd let them know beforehand though if it had passed

Frome Town are beating Bideford 2-0 with 3 mins of normal time to play. If it stays that way we will rightfully be standing in 4th place going into this weekends fixtures.

Interesting results today.
Bideford 4 Burnham 0 Chesham 1 Hitchin 2 Weymouth 0 Stourbridge 5
Chesham losing is a great result for Saints. We can go above them if we win both the games in hand on them. Second place might not be completely out of reach.

All true. We still need to have others do usfavours and it looks like they can. But Bideford home and away for us may be the key to our run in. Poole in a ridiculous situation with between 5 and 9 games in hand of teams above and even Hungerford could sneak a place. We just have to win and get as high into playoffs as we can starting on Tuesday . really hope the game is on as i dont want us to get into a position where we have too many games to play. Need a big support on Tuesday so COYS fans.

If the Arlesey game is on, I'll be there. Quite an easy journey.
Sadly, their game was off today and more rain is forecast for Monday and Tuesday.
Over in the Ryman League there's a big debate about 3G pitches, which are not allowed in the Conference or Conference North/South. Maidstone are top of the Ryman, but have a 3G pitch and therefore won't be allowed to go up. Seems daft when so many clubs could benefit not only from getting more matches played on Saturdays during winter (when crowds are likely to be higher than midweek) and when a 3G surface can be rented out without the major risk of them cutting up.

all for 3G pitches unless you can match our standard. 'remarkable' that the one thing that enables a game to be played is neglected in order to sign players (see Poole) but that sums the FA all up.

3G pitches have come on a long way since the plastics at place like Luton, shame the football authorities haven't, but then what do we expect
