and even Hungerford could sneak a place. Davy your having a laugh your the one that always says about 'points on the board' Hungerford are 15th wiyh 3 games in hand on us but are 16 points behind with a record of: W 11 D 2 L 10. The top 6 are starting to pull away now will be top 7 if Poole keep picking up points (when they play)

Strange. Maidstone getting huge crowds and have a 3G pitch. Poole. Only 8 games at home this season in league with a clearly unsuirable pitch and a garden shed etc and may get approval to go up.Complete nonsense. If decision goes against Poole and they are in play-off place i believe that the team they draw will get a bye rather than 6th place getting in. Is that true?

As regards Hungerford, I meant that they could get above Poole before Poole play many more games and push Pool further down before they have to start playing games no matter what i.e they could be in 8th place and have nearly a quarter of their season to play in about 4 weeks- most of them at home and on a pitch that cant take it- could almost be impossible to get their games in unless they play the home games elsewhere. And Hungerford are only 9 points behind Poole having played only two more. Going to be tight . We need to go on a big winning streak and hope others collapse. Can we win it? Would be akin to the last Ryder cup!

Surely the logical thing to do would be give the 2nd place team a bye to the final- not saying this will happen
As regards Poole they got the Hinckley free weekend next Saturday, so their situation is worse than it looks. There already in 3 game a week territory and it would be a miracle if they avoided further postponements at Lake Tatnam. I know it will cost money but they need to organise a alternative for their home matches
I think there are clearly one of the best five sides in the division so in a sense I like to see them in play-offs but their problems are partly self-induced (trying to play on a bog)

Is that true? No, No, No let me fill you in on the Conference and their idea of rewarding success If Poole (or any other team that couldn't go up): Won the league - Only the play off winners would go up and a team would be spared relegation from the conference S/N Made the play offs - they will still compete in the play offs and if they won them then, once again, a team will be spared relegation

Have things changed since we got promoted to the Conference then? I seem to remember that we got a bye to the play-off final as Lewes' ground wasn't up to scratch.

Actually, if Poole do win the league or the playoffs that would be success. It is the other teams that have failed.
If we want to be promoted we should be doing it on the field ourselves.

Thats within the conference, my understanding is that after we got that bye they changed the rules so the play-off places can be filled by the Top 4 eligible teams in positions 2-7, so in theory the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th teams could compete for promotion to the conf national However the Conference will only accept from the feeder leagues the champions or play off winners (and the play offs are only for the teams 2nd-5th) they wouldn't accept a team that finished 6th

Thanks for clarifying that. Hopefully we can finish 2nd as top spot seems out of our range unless Hemel have a terrible run, so we can be assured of home ties in the play offs. Firstly though, we've got to win tonight. Wish the lads good luck from me. I'm out of the country but will follow on Twitter and this forum. Come on you Saints!

They are the midweek after the last game and then the final is bank holiday Monday
So that would be Mon 28 / Tue 29 or Wed 30th April, I'm assuming it'll fall on the normal midweek day, looking back at recent years they've mainly been played on Tuesdays but I have seen some on Mondays
The final will be Monday 5th May

Hiya. Sorry - still getting the hang of quotes! Lol. I'm out of Wales in wet and windy Belfast! Back to Wales tomorrow. Great win for Saints. Seems they have a good squad now - not just starting 11.

Board Statement – Points Deduction calor-southern-league 06 Feb
It is with great regret that the Board of Directors have to announce that the Club has had 3 points deducted from its playing record and been fined £250 due to the fact that Sam Clarke was inadvertently fielded in the side v Redditch on 14thDecember when he should have been serving a one match suspension.
The oversight-unprecedented in the Club’s history was immediately disclosed to the League and Sam was withheld from the next fixture.
The Club’s procedures which have served it so well for decades have been upgraded to ensure there will never be a repetition.
It is important to state that Sam Clarke is entirely blameless in this matter.
We can only apologise to players management and supporters for this most unfortunate oversight.

Shame for them but this always happens, I've never known a team not avoid a points deduction
They should just draw a line under this season IMO, with the amount of games they have left to play, a points deduction plus the forecast for the next month* they'd be better of saving their budget
* or six months if you read the Daily Express

I've just seen Chesham's run in. They still have to play Cambridge, Poole, Bideford and Hemel all away and Stourbridge at home. Throw in travelling to Redditch and St Neots who have good recent home records. Nightmare.
