Bailey can learn from Frendo.
Great apprenticeship for the lad.

From what I am seeing, this is Goss/Tajbakhsh revisited. Neither of them were able to cut it at Southern League Premier level and it seemed an age before we finally let them go. Pending injuries and suspensions we may be ok until November when Shields returns to Dag & Red but, in all honesty (and difficult though it may be), we need to be looking at bringing in a quality striker, who is proven at this level or higher to partner Frendo. Bailey works hard and is a natural goalscorer and one way or another, I agree that he certainly needs to play and play regularly. It might be a lot more prudent to put Pires out on loan.

Charlie Gorman played for us in our last relegation/reprieve season. He was a good player dragged down by the dross we put around him, that's a good signing for you.

Anyone know much about these two players? will they add quality to the first X or squad?

Both sound more squad players, Gorman mainly (Conference play, however) to cover for Corcoran, while the striker is just back up considering Buchanan and McBean left.
I'm told both are available for selection at Ebbsfleet.

Apparently Howard Hall has joined Harrow Borough, according to Non-League Daily. Dual registration. I think Jimmy may have mentioned it a few weeks ago, but I'm not entirely sure.

Agree with that Citycentresaint. I really liked the look of Jamal Lowe last season but he plays in a similar position to Sean Shields (although he's a different style of player) so perhaps isn't what we need at the moment.

Defender calls time at CityMichael Edwards Tom Ward has left St Albans City by mutual consent. The defender joined the Saints on a month loan from Gainsborough Trinity in November 2013, which turned into a 18-month deal after he impressed alongside Ben Martin at the heart of the defence. He went on to make 29 appearances in the 2013/14 season and another seven this campaign. Ward’s departure opens the door for James Kaloczi to challenge Martin and Darren Locke for more time while the club has made an approach for Hornchurch defender Omar Beckles, who impressed in Monday night’s cup win, to bring added depth to a talented group. Greg Ngoyi returning to City?Michael Edwards Greg Ngoyi scored 18 times in a season and a half at St Albans City. Greg Ngoyi could be set for a return to St Albans City if he can prove himself to the management. The former Saints front man was at Clarence Park for Monday night’s 5-3 win over Cheshunt in the Herts Senior Cup. He was forced to leave the club in December 2013 due to work commitments but could be returning in the near future. Joint manager James Gray said: “He’s little bit more settled at work so he rang me to ask if he could force himself into the squad he proves himself. He’s a proven goalscorer, not at this level but he’s a fox in the box. “Greg has been out of the game for nine months so he’ll need to come in and work hard. We got a few friendlies which will be good for him to get some minutes and if he shows up well he could force our hand.” He added: “He’s a great lad to have around, on and off the pitch, and hopefully he can push the rest of the centre forwards all the way.” St Albans have never found a fitting replacement for Ngoyi, who scored 18 times in a season and a half at the club, since his departure, going through a myriad of partners for John Frendo before settling on a lone-striker formation. “Since we’ve been here, we haven’t found a partner for Frendo,” said Gray. “It’s no coincidence that he got a hat-trick against Cheshunt with another striker up there with him. Nathan Peacock created space for him - that little bit of pace behind the defence opened the door for Frendo. “We’re conscience of trying to get the best out of our players.” www.hertsad.co.uk/sport/football/greg_ngoyi_returning_to_city_1_3832517I always thought Frendo and Ngoyi looked like they could form a formidable partnership, let's hope he can get himself match fit and prove it

Agree with Hatboy, when Frendo first joined I always envisioned Ngoyi partnering him. They could complement each other pretty well I reckon.

Very good news about Charlie Gorman. He's the sort of player you don't really notice until you stand back and make an effort to watch him. Does the ugly, boring, disruptive stuff very well. Wins more headers than he should for his height, scraps and battles and he worked well with James Kaloczi. It'll be interesting to see how quickly Sam Corcoran can get fully fit and whether he and Gorman can work together.
Ngoyi played for Saints before I started watching regularly but I did see him once or twice. I know Wealdstone fans really liked him, although that might be because of all the goals he scored against Harrow Borough.
Will be interesting to see if Nouble gets on the pitch on Saturday. From Jimmy Gray's interviews, it sounds like he might be thinking about playing two up front rather than Frendo up on his own with Shields and Wales coming from deeper, wider positions.

Tom Ward on bench for St.Neots today, no surprise linking up with bazza again. Clarkey departure should free up couple of additions in budget?
