Wingate & Finchley (2) Saints (3) 8
McBean Corcoran 2 Wales 2 Frendo Clarke Comley
Saints line up today -
Coulton (Welch), Hall (Kyriacou), Kaloczi (Bola), Locke, Chappell, Wales, Green (Lette Jallow), Corcoran, Clarke, McBean (Frendo), Pires (Comley).
A better 2nd half than 1st half in very hot conditions. Two very good strikes from Corcoran in the 1st half.

Sounds like a good win, minutes on the pitch and goals in the net. Can't be bad. Did anyone impress?

Got to the ground at 3.00 after a 20 minute walk from the station. There were no cold drink available anywhere in the ground until half time which was really bad considering that it was so hot and humid.
The game was entertaining enough. At times, we looked shaky at the back and a couple of the high profile signings still look unconvincing but on the whole, good progress.
Always love going to that ground though and the best pitch that we will see all season.

good win saints but conceding must be worry? Any sign of Ward at c/half? Baza signed on at Royston, wish him well at crows nest.

Ward was on a 18 month contract so should be here, but wasn't it Bazza who brought him down?

No Ward or Martin for this game, Ward wasn't playing against Dagenham either

Lee Clarke (Living in the Peterborough area)is giving Ward a lift at the moment to training etc I think...
Possibly just has an injury? He played vs Solihull. Or, he may even be away... He hasn't tweeted since the 13th of July. (Social media,eh?)

Very simple answer to our pre season so far, Sign Mcbean at all costs (even £15 a ticket) and somehow let Pires go back to where he came. I pay good money to see players try and the very least and Pires does not look interested. I hope a am seriously wrong but resigning Clarkey and his mate from Welling has certainly not floated my boat so far!

Very harsh on Clarke there... has three goals so far in pre-season (Including one in a closed doors friendly) Pires has disappointed so far.
McBean's record of something like 14 previous clubs by the age of 28, along with numerous reports of an awful attitude tells me all I need to know about him, we need to stay away from him. Elliot Buchanan, 25, has impressed me far more, and would, in my opinion, be a much better option than McBean.

Clarke, although nothing like fully fit yet, had a pretty reasonable game at Wingate on Saturday. Pires, on the other hand........

Are you sure you're not getting him confused with Buchanan? Now he did look useful.

A Bromley fans quote on Buchanan vs McBean: 'If its a choice between Buchanan & McBean, then it's pretty straight forward. McBean would be a risk, Buchanan is a decent CS player as an attacking option.'
Short and sweet.
