Wealdstone have had a hard time adjusting to this division, having lost two of their best players (Tom Pett and Jerome Okimo) to Stevenage. They also lost Glen Little, who played for Burnley and Reading for years. They got their first win on Tuesday night, at Whitehawk but are still bottom of the table.
This is a game I've been looking forward to because a mate of mine is a Wealdstone fan and over the last few seasons I've been following their battle to get out of the Ryman League from a distance. I went to watch them a couple of times last season and I was impressed and was somewhat surprised they started so slowly.
Anyway, there's a lot riding on Saturday's game (for me, anyway) and a quick look at their forum shows they have (predictably) taken the bait of Lee Chappell's 'we're going there to smash them up' comment.
So, how many Saints fans are making the trip to Grosvenor Vale? Will there be a big away following?

It better be segregated.
That Gordon guy looks very naughty.
We will need to take down a decent sized firm as it could kick off.

A firm? This isn't the 1980's. Any further talk of 'Firms' is banned. This forum will not be associated with it I'm afraid.

Note- This isn't a personal attack on anyone here, it's just that we at Saintschat would rather that chat like that is kept away from the forum. I'm sure you can understand.
Any other topic, such as discussing potential segregation etc is more than welcome!

I doubt firms operate at this level of football.

I'm glad. As I said, nothing personal towards anyone, it's just the forum could get into a lot of problems with no restrictions on chat like that, be it or serious, or less so.

Calm down boys. As a local resident who's always supported Wealdstone I've been waiting toooooo long for Saturday's game (25 years since a cup meeting, and 43 in the league) and it would be great if Saints fans travelled en masse in the same way you did to Chesham for the play-off final (a game I saw, amd was impressed by your latent support). Can't see it happening on Saturday, but surely there will be at least 100 from St Albans at the Vale? The best thing about promotion is renewing rivalries with some proper old rivals. The Ryman was just a bit sad in that respect, with the notable exceptions of Maidstone United, Enfield and Dulwich. If Maidstone and Margate are promoted as expected next April there will be some cracking games (and crowds) in 2015-16. Our only priority now is to survive. Rest assured there will be at least 250 in blue when we meet later in the season at Clarence Park, however the rest of the season pans out. Look forward to seeing a good Saints presence on Saturday - no segregation by the way, absolutely no need!

Should be segregated if Gordon Hill is in attendance.
He looks like a man you don't cross...

A clip of the Wealdstone Raider in a more sober mood. Sounds quite affable, really

HT 1 - 0 to Saints according to football web ages - any news from anyone at the game? I'm not at the game but Twitter says Frendo was scorer, late in the first half.

I've been told playing quite well defence looks solid even Big Bad Ben (for a change) worth the lead as well, yes Lord Frendo just before half time.
Good support from home and away fans.
Eastbourne look like suffering a third straight defeat, wood winning again, hemel losing at home again aslo (they've only picked up 1 point at home !) and Bromley are losing at home to gosport

Great win today. Was the performance as good as the scoreline? Who stood out for Saints? What was the crowd?

This was as comprehensive as the scoreline suggests. MOM John Frendo, lead the line brilliantly. Clarke (sub for Shields) made a big contribution too, Ward would be my pick of the defenders. Walshy only had to make one save all afternoon. We made Wealdstone look very average. Five wins from the first ten matches is a great start to the campaign.

A good win considering we played a team who had just beaten whitehawk. First team this season we have looked like the more physical team. We could/should have won by 5 but very much an even game till first goal. Good support from our end but we need tolay off the homophobic poo poo that was directed at their goalie. Aint funny and we are better than that. cmon Great to see us pressure the ball and get lots of second as well as putting the oppo under pressure and giving them little time on the ball Any worries about probs at game appeared misplaced, unless anything went off after I left. Malcolm travelled from Prague today to see game. is this a record distance in a day? Great to see Clarke on the scoresheet- but you should have had two Lee!!!

Wealdstone were a very poor side and I feel in the first half especially we came down to their level and I was crying out for someone to put their foot on the ball so we could put some passes together on a wonderful looking pitch. Frendo definitely had his best game of the season so far and led the line well by holding the ball up but nobody seemed to want to run off him when the ball was played up. Sean was disappointing again and we never seemed to isolate him one on one like their number 7 had numerous times in the first half against Lee. Good win but I came away thinking we could do much better. Wealdstone are in for a real fight against relegation this season IMO.
