I haven't anyone to compare him to from the Saints history, but I thought the criticism of Lee Chappell was a bit harsh.
Okay, so his long-throw may a bit predictable but it's still capable of causing a commotion in the opposition box. Even against Concord there was a number of Chappell's long throws that were only a flick or a nudge away from creating a goal.
Chappell is committed and never gives less than his all. When he's not playing well he doesn't go missing, he still fights and tries his best. His mistakes are rarely anything less than honest ones made in the process of trying to do the right thing.
Having reflected a little this week, I think perhaps I under-rated Whitehawk's quality. They were a decent side with a lot of pace, clinical up front and a willingness to work and run off the ball. A good example for us to follow, particularly with the movement when the midfield players have the ball and are looking for their options ahead of them.
