I've just uploaded a new version - this displays total goals scored and total appearances in the players stats area and also has some improved YouTube video viewing features (although more work still needs to done there)

Thanks mattb43 - I'm too new to know about the banned clowns but sounds interesting.... ! In preparation for tomorrow's match I have uploaded a newer version - more improvements to YouTube viewing and also some new features for matches and periodic checking of news/tweets. Hopefully that will be useful for tracking progress when a match is on and tweets are (hopefully) more frequently updating - although I haven't been able to actually test it properly so fingers crossed that it works out okay tomorrow afternoon!

Hi mjhill1967 - I've just had another look at the app and I can't wait to use it tomorrow. I've already showed it to some of my acquaintances here. They thought it was good that St Albans City had an app but they thought I wa really sad for having it. Lol.

Not as sad as the guy who spent too many hours this week working on the app whilst away on business in Texas!

Lol. I guess you're right. However, personally I think it's fantastic.

Not as sad as the guy who spent too many hours this week working on the app whilst away on business in Texas! If you can come up with something like this then you can be as sad as you want :-) Like westwalessaint I'm looking forward to giving it a full test drive today

I thought it was very good. A real addition. It saves flicking from one website to another to get all the information as it's all in one place.

Thanks westwalessaint - I didn't get to try it out much myself as I made it along to the match and was too engrossed in watching the game! Is there anything I could improve or add? By the start of next season I hope to add: A new improved interface Herts Ad twitter updates Manager profiles Jimmy's interviews Current squad list Past seasons results Logos for opponent teams Check in (ie indicate that you attended a match) Predictions (make your predictions and then also access an automatically updated prediction league table)

Hi mjhill1967 - that all sounds very impressive and exciting. In relation to missing details on some of the older players listed - it might be worth getting Dave Taverner to provide some details. I'm sure he'll have most (if not all) of them. I remember a number of those from 60's, 70's and 80's but wouldn't be able to provide the details that Dave T could. Once again, I really appreciate all your work on this.

It was good to use - made it easy to keep up with the teams around us as well
The future plans sound good too

I'm actually helping out Webbo on loading in the missing player details (my app simply connects to the players database on the website and pulls in the data). The data we have goes all the way back to 1908!
Thanks swindonsaint also - by the time of our next home match I should also have Herts Ad updates as well - especially as they now appear to categorise their Saints tweets with #sacfc (which is very, very helpful!)

I've uploaded a new version - with a new interface. This version also has manager info, Herts Ad news updates and also Jimmy's post match interviews.

I've uploaded another new version - this release splits out fixtures and results and includes the start of some new work on a new option to view the current squad. This shows their goals and appearances for the season - and given the recent debate on the Maidenhead away thread - I'll also later add yellow and red cards...!

Out of interest, is this available on android as an app or simply as a web page from www.saints.co.uk/MightySaints? I've bookmarked the page from the SaintsNet, just wondering if the app was standalone or not.

Whilst it is in development, I am just making it available as a web page app. However, I will then be creating a standalone app version as well. Android is going to be the first one I do - and ideally I'd like to have Android, Windows and Apple versions ready for the start of next season. The most problematic version is the Apple version - simply because Apple require a developer to actually own and use one of their own Mac computers to submit to the AppStore (although you can actually design and develop on anything you like) which of course has a cost to it.... I'll let you know as soon as I have an Android version ready - I had been thinking of building a test version earlier in the week so might give that a go in the next few weeks so it can be tried out before the end of the season.
I should also add that the web page app (http://www.sacfc.co.uk/MightySaints/) is optimised so that it responds to the device being used and displays appropriately.

Version 1.7 very good. Don't forget Apple devices as in future developments as I've got an iPhone! Lol.

1.7.1 is now available - a few tweaks to the Current squad and Player stats features - including, for current squad, yellow and red cards based on data from SaintsNet (I'm not sure it's fully up to date yet as Corcoran appears to have only 2 yellows for the season...)

1.7.2 now available - correcting an issue with yellow card numbers (my mistake not SaintsNet!)

1.8.3 is now available - including Vidiprinter improvements together with a new look landing page (home page)
This improvement was enabled by a 2 hour delay to a BA flight to Glasgow....

I now have a true app version for Android phones/tablets available for testing (although the videos area does not currently work) - if anyone would like to install and give it a test drive, just drop me a message and I'll send instructions on how to install.

Video issues have now been fixed in the Android version. I can also supply a Windows Phone test version if anyone is interested in installing that and testing it (I don't have a Windows phone myself so haven't even seen if it works yet...)

Well if the Android and Microsoft Phone versions work well enough then I should be able to start looking at an iPhone/iPad version fairly soon....

Made a few more tweaks today after trying it out yesterday - and have also added a "past seasons" feature going all the way back to 1908. Missing matches and players are hopefully not far off as I made good progress in working on a solution to load old club records on to SaintsNet (which will be my focus over next few weeks and ill just focus on fixing issues on the app).

New version now ready for tonight's match - this includes a new feature where you click on / touch the next match photo to view the past 6 results against the current opponents. Also, if accessing using a phone, you can swipe down in the News / vidiprinter sections to refresh the current news updates. Android phone/tablet users can install a test version by using the following link: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7771883/MightySaints/MightySaints-debug.apkNote: You will need to allow your phone to download from an unknown source. Once tested properly, it will then become available on the Google Play Store
