The early louis goal as good as it was should never have been allowed to turn and shoot. This seem to set tone for game as Louis bullyed our defence all game winning most headers and elbows. We didnt play to bad but gave ball away all to frequent and support to forwards was to slow from midfielders, sub nicholson looked like capable of attacking mid role for future, thought wealdstone fans were very good today, we have to keep eye on teams behind but hopefully will have e.nuff in bag to stay in league next season which promises to be good one, on to next week nother toughie in concord. COYS.

As for complacency about relegation, maybe I am complacent but the numbers tell me that it's very, very unlikely we'll be in danger of finishing in the bottom two. Staines have gone. They'd need to win 8 of their remaining 11 games to overtake us and that relies on us not getting a single point. Farnborough may be 11 behind with two games in hand but they need to win four of their last ten just to catch us. It has taken them 15 games to win their most recent four so it would take a significant improvement from them to endanger us. That's not to say our recent run of form isn't a concern, but it's over a month since I've seen them play (Maidenhead away) and I didn't think yesterday's game was all that bad so I'm not feeling too downbeat. Spot on. We've got 8 games left including a home game against Staines. We are safe from relegation, and the managers are right to be concerned about our run of form. The latter is not for this season, instead it is for next season as we will be relegated unless we prioritise points over performance. This was a game we should not have lost even if we weren't going to win it.

It is interesting to compare how youthful some of best talent is compared to opposing teams - as the Stones standout player was 36. If we can retain our talent - and the valuable experience they have gained this season - we should be able to improve upon this season but might need to plug a few gaps that I am sure the managers are aware of. We also of course need to stabilise the off pitch uncertainty to show players that there is a club worth staying at

Compare the first half today with the first half against Basingstoke: night and day. Yes, the team was different and the opposition was different. I see the performance as being radically different as well: we never attacked with pace, we never moved into space and offered passing opportunities for team mates. We looked languid and lacking ideas. These days happen in football, which doesn't make it any less disappointing that we couldn't replicate that Basingstoke performance yesterday. It was clear to me that nothing was happening through midfield, and that seemed clear to Wealdstone who stopped us creating anything down the flanks. I agree that Nicholson looked sharp when he came on, similar to how Malcolm played when he first arrived at the club and he had a disappointing game. I thought Jamal Lowe was busy and had a few chances, and their keeper made a couple of stunning saves to deny us goals. However, this was a game we should have drawn at the very least I thought Corcoran had a 'mare: the ref didn't even speak to him so there was never any chance of a booking. (only joking! )

(only joking! ) A very accurate assessment of the game, yellowalf, especially your comments on the midfield (or, rather, the non midfield) and also our continual lack of movement off the ball, which was again very evident yesterday.

Agree. Basingstoke first half was all about the movement and space and opportunities that we created. Lets hope we are able repeat that type of performance over the coming weeks

Agree with what has been said above. It was certainly more entertaining than the game at Whitehawk, but after the performances against Concord and Basingstoke it was a bit mediocre and disappointing. I also feel that a lot of teams in this league break fast and have more pace upfront.

Couldn't make the quiz or game due to illness- the result didn't help me any. Fortunately, for once, we have points on the board early and should avoid a relegation battle for we are surely in a run of relegation form as can be seen by results and how other teams have moved on/improved whilst we have not. Great crowd. Clearly, 'we wanted some and they give it us'.
