Ignoring loan players and those who've been and gone, who are the players with the biggest impact this season? Mine are as follows: Senior Player: James Comley New Player: Omar Beccles Young Player: Jack Green

Senior player: Lee Chappell (strong competition from Comley and a mention to Darren Locke who in my mind has improved considerably over the course of the season)
New player: Joe Welch (Beckles also a contender)
Young player: Jack Green

Great thread this! From the half-a-dozen games I've managed to get to this season...
Senior player: James Comley - still some improvements that need to be made to his game but there are few worse feelings than turning up to Clarence Park and seeing his name missing from the teamsheet. New player: Joe Welch - had Bazza's big gloves to fill this season but settled straight into the team with confidence. Young player: Jack Green - his appearance against Gosport was the best performance of the season for me.
Honourable mentions to Darren Locke (it's testament to him and his character (+circumstances) that both Martin & Ward have left but he has established himself as our first-choice centre-half) & Ian Gayle (disqualified under westwalessaints' rules but would definitely be in there otherwise!)

Let's add best loan deal for COYS Ian Gayle (of course!)

Senior player: Comley, his dominance of the midfield, and also of the back four in the past two games has demonstrated just how important he is to this team.
New player: Joe Welch is dominant in goal, however, Beckles has been a great acquisition, so it's a toss up between the two.
Young player: Definitely Jack Green, despite not actually getting too many minutes this season. He reminds me a little of JJ O'Donnell when he was coming through the ranks.
Loan: Ian Gayle definitely, he commands the defence, and partnered up well with Locke. Would not be surprised to see the managers try and get him in this summer in some form.

I'd support the inclusion of Joe Welch in the New Player category. I'd also support Gayle in the Loan category.

Every Dag and Red match I check to make sure he sat on the subs bench - selfish, I know but I agree it would be a fantastic coup by the management team to get him back for next season. I did also notice Sean Shields has been out of the Ebbsfleet squad for the last couple of games (the games they won...) not sure if he is injured or out of favour...

Lets be honest, if we started next season with Welch, Locke, Chappell, Beckles, Gayle, Comley and Jack Green in the team then we'd have the nucleus of a very good side. I think the rest are pretty expendable TBH although on their day the likes of Lowe, Kaloczi and Kyriacou can do the business

Just to go against the grain, I'd go with Corkers over Coms. Yes he's picked up too many bookings but in some of the best performances of the season (Concord, Weston) he pulled the strings in the middle.
Can't argue with Welch - he's been my player of the year - and Gayle.

totally agree. Welch commands his defence and is also one of those keepers that is alert enough to sweep up at the back as well. He's also very personable and ready to have a chat with fans - something that I feel also has some importance at this level.

Senior player: Lee Chappell – very consistent again at (I think) the highest level he's played at. I liked the little spell where we had Nathan Green on that side too and he and Chappell swapped places, allowing Chappell to get forward more. Chappell's hat-trick at home to Maidenhead is one of my highlights of the season.
New player: Joe Welch. Again, very consistent, commands his area well and distribution is decent. Shot-stopping is the best part of his game.
Loan player: Ian Gayle. Class. I really hope he makes it in the Football League but if he doesn't, would welcome him back in a shot.
Young player: Jack Green looks like a great talent.

Young player: Jack Green looks like a great talent. I have to pretty much agree with all of that, notsorecent. Lee Chappell is a natural leader, both on and off the field. Omar Beckles was a great mid season acquisition, who really blossomed as a holding midfielder, especially whilst Ian Gayle was behind him the back four. He also added a lot of strength and bite to the midfield and I, too, would also love to see Gayle return on a permanent basis. Finally, I think we all know about James Comley's ability to play in a number of different positions but his performances at centre back in the two most recent games against Bishop's Stortford and Eastbourne were quite brilliant. The two best defensive displays of the season, bar none, in my book. Great player. "

Every Dag and Red match I check to make sure he sat on the subs bench - selfish, I know but I agree it would be a fantastic coup by the management team to get him back for next season. Gayle played all 90 minutes against Luton this evening. He was fouled by Paul Benson which resulted in a red card for the Hatters striker.

I thought that he might have got his chance after Obileye's red card in their previous match - imagine it will now be difficult to get him back although we do now have Coms doing his best to imitate Gayle at the back!
