That article also mentions McDevitt from Royston - seems to be a cut and paste issue there....

Comley's move to Maidenhead is a loan? Well, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever unless it's just to cut costs and get Comley's wages off the books or he's had a falling out with someone and they want him out.
The only reason a club at this level bothers with the commitment of signing a player to a contract is in the hope that someone comes along and offers some money for him, or to prevent him going to another club at short notice for no cash.
To sign him up to a contract, then lend him to someone else (even if they are picking up the tab) before letting him go for nothing in the summer doesn't strike me as very smart at all.
What a shame. The team's best (if sometimes temperamental and a tad erratic) player given away to a mid-table team while we're in the do-do.

www.stalbanscityfc.com/squad-news/It is Liam McDevitt from Gosport Borough who has signed, as well as Jevani Brown from Kettering. Wonder who will be leaving now to make way for these two ? Also, why are we not looking at bringing in a central defender, considering the goals we are shipping this season ?

Getting the feeling we are just signing players in the hope the odd one clicks.I really can not see the point in signing players that are,nt as good as the ones we have.

Also, why are we not looking at bringing in a central defender, considering the goals we are shipping this season ? Liam McDevitt was only released by Yeovil Town in December. Has only played once for Gosport Borough in a county cup game away at Sholing a couple of weeks ago, where they won 6-3. Due to Gosport's good form of late, he has been unable to force his way into the team in their league games. According to reports, he is very, very quick. As far as central defenders are concerned, in addition to Martin and Locke, we still have Johnson and Oshodi must also be very close to returning. Udoji can also play cb, as can Bender. I should think that there has to be a limit how many we can keep on the books.

I understand that Johnson is heading off with Watford u21s for a competition in India. I really hope we see Oshodi return from injury tomorrow as feel he makes a big difference to our defensive capabilities - and get the odd goal when going forwards as well

The Pitchero article was very confusing and of course referenced the wrong player - which is good because I did wonder why we would sign a right back from Royston Town!

Didn't Harry Wheeler speak about getting rid of disruptive influences in the dressing room at the fans forum
That can be the only explanation for a mad decision like this, although his form has been poor recently, maybe it was the ideal time to put him back in defence

Sean Shields has joined Hemel on loan.
Though he's had a number of loans this season, and sadly doesn't appear to have done particularly well anywhere.

Allinson's first signing is a youth loan of Josh Staunton from Charlton.

According to reports, Anderson is very highly rated. Was Peterborough's Young Player of the Year last season. A very exciting signing.
