Effiong "racing" past Martin is not very encouraging.
Perhaps everything will make sense against Hitchin.

Pre-season results mean nothing at the end of the day, but we should have one of the fittest squads come the opening day after all these games (Too many games? Quite possibly..).

Effiong is still, clearly, very quick if he can 'outpace' Coms, who is no slouch. Frankly, I don't think too many supporters are overly worried about results in pre-season friendlies. Are 10 of them too many? Not according to the management (and that is what matters) or they wouldn't have set them up in the first place. Minutes in the bank and what happens come Aug 8 are what are important.

Pre-season has been a necessary evil and the squad will benefit from it. Very different from last season and it is showing. I expect the team to do very well up to Christmas and settle themselves in the top half of the table.

I hope you are right Saint. I was at the game and the negative nature of both the local papers' reports were very accurate. Based on this game, any thought of a play off place is very optimistic. I shall most likely also be at the Hitchin game and hopefully this will not be such a painful experience. I speak as I find and if this is perceived as negative so be it.
