He shouldn't refereeing at this level.
How can you charge £15 and have match official like that.
An embarrassment to the league.

As already stated not only was it a very very soft penalty decision but there was no one he was going to get the ball and he knew it and went down so should never ever of been a red.
I noticed the highlights didn't show the joke booking for Def Com 1 winning the ball either
I liked the Jimmy comment about the ref having it in for us either that or he took a bung

Perhaps COYS> However, when you are devoid of anyone controlling midfield as Ram used to do, having got in front , leaving two up top leaves gaps elsewhere and teams better than Hemel would exploit more. And whilst it was 'brave', we conceded, again, late on and lost two points. we weren't chasing the game so the logic is somewhat lost on me. Disagree. Sow and Comley were a force to be reckoned with in midfield. G&G kept two up at 1-1, we pushed on in the second half instead of inviting pressure and went a goal up. It was when we (somewhat understandably) began to invite that pressure towards the end of the game (once Thomas had been brought off?) that we conceded. I think if the management hadn't been bold when we came out for the second half then we would have got nothing out of that game.

Unfortunately the video does not show it, but Hemel's second goal was our fault. If my memory is correct, we had possession of the ball in or just outside our penalty box immediately before the build up to the goal. But instead of trying to pass it, we needlessly put ourselves under pressure by aimlessly booting it upfield. That gave the ball straight back to Hemel who seized the opportunity to attack us (successfully) again.

In practice,I argue, many referees apply the denying a goal scoring differently for offences committed inside the box. As the attacking team are being compensated with a clear goalscoring opportunity anyway they look for excuse not to send the player off - so if they believe that the ball may have run through to the keeper they give the defender the benefit and just award the penalty. Overall, I thought it was excellent performance and I do not want to sound churlish but if memory serves that the 3 penalty we have conceded in 4 home games? This needs to be addressed. Also I think James Grey may wise to be slightly more circumspect in his comments on the referee. I welcome his honesty but in suggesting that referee was not simply incompetent but biased he may be getting to risky legal territory, unless he has hard evidence to support them. His comments in his interview must come quite close to being slanderous and maybe they should be taken down?

...............Overall, I thought it was excellent performance................... Just so we are clear here, bob666, are you saying that you thought it was an excellent performance by the Saints or an excellent performance by the referee?

The saints, sorry. I thought the ref was very poor. In his comments Grey accuses the referee not simply of making mistakes but of systematic bias. It fine to say he not up to this level of football (complete rubbish) but systematic bias is an entirely different level of criticism altogether. You beginning to get into slander territory. At the very least the league may consider action if they became aware of his comments. I think he should withdraw them if he has not got hard evidence to back them up. Accusing a referee of bias is a very serious accusation and I do not think it is acceptable unless you can support it with very clear evidence.

I really don't think there's anything slanderous being said there...
