I'm surprised no-one from the club has pointed out the FA's ruling on ticket pricing. Apparently the clubs can come to an agreement but it must be either the home club's normal price (15 quid in saints' case) or Deal's normal fiver. Funnily enough both clubs are staying with 15 notes.

I sorry but I just don't think that is true (Deal charge 7 anyway). To quote this years rules: Qualifying Competition Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices of admission subject to the following conditions. Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children and senior citizens) to matches shall be: In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00 In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £5.00 In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £6.00 A higher admission charge may be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned. The away Club’s spectators can only be charged more than the home Club’s spectators if agreed by both Clubs. The price of admission for children and senior citizens must be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned. So we can set any mutually agreed price over a £5, I have wanted £10 but would have sloped along for £12 to be honest

While I think £15 is steep for this particular game, it cost me a tenner to see Dunstable v Barton Rover in the last round so there's no way you can expect to pay £8.

Great gesture by SBYS - personally I'm hoping to win the Matchday Mascot package to see the look on Lee Chappell's face as he realises he has to walk onto the pitch holding the hand of a miserable old git like me!

Ooof! Really? I thought a tenner would be a fair price to see a team from the Southern Counties East League. My reaction as well - even the oof bit.

Thanks Bob, I was given the wrong info. I'm not a saints fan but by the sound of it there won't be many at your game saturday. I'll be at wealdstone v biggleswade for 12 quid- amazing what psychological difference 3 pounds makes!

Well played Stand By Your Saints. Good to make the point to the owners and chairman and a nice gesture too.

Everyone points out we don't have much other monies coming in apart from match day fees ,So extra money the cup games bring in is needed and not sure many won't come thinking its £15. the players still expect to paid the same weather they playing Deal Town or Arsenal in the 3rd round.

I don't think it's quite as simplistic as that... it's also not unknown for the bar to lose money during the course of a season...

Many a club has come unstuck budgeting for a cup run and losing the first game, away!

There have been various discussions today between SBYS, trust and owners. Unfortunately the ticket prices cannot be changed because they have already been submitted to the FA. However the owners have committed to change how the club make these decisions and involve both supporters groups in the devision ma king process. They would like to see full clarity going forward and would like to see as many of us there on Saturday as possible.
SBYS, and I would think the trust as well, welcome this and we believe we should now move on and look forward to improved dialogue between supporters and club in future. SBYS will still be offering a prize draw - a voucher will be handed to every supporter that attends Saturday's match and a draw will then be made at half time.

There is no partnership and never will be sensible discussions between the club and the supporters groups. It's great we have such loyal fans but let's be honest - what can they do to influence a couple of owners who rarely attend the games?
We need to wise up and get rid of these clowns. Yes it's great the owners have said 'in the future we will do this and that blah blah blah' but at the end of the day it is still going to be £15 to play the dog and duck United on Saturday.
The club is so distanced from the supporters it's unbelievable.

I'm willing to accept mistakes will be made (by all involved) buts let's move on with what we've got. Have we ever had an owner that is universally popular - or any other club? At least these owners haven't gone on a spending spree and bankrupt the club. We have an opportunity to build bridges - if you're not interested, then you don't have to participate

I wonder how jj123 thinks the club is kept going? I'm certain my season ticket money isn't the cornerstone of its financial viability. The owners have put their hands in their pockets. Why is that a bad thing??
I'm only commenting as I really think the owners are doing a good job. (yes, I think £15 is a lot - but attendance numbers and total income will be more telling than what I think)

I think its important to realise that there are open lines of communication between the club and the supporters groups, more so than in previous years. I would like to think that if more fans worked with the supporters groups and backed up their statements and complaints with positive action and suggestions - the impact on the Club, the team and the potential for growth will be felt. There will always be grumbles and rumbles on both sides but the current visibility of the groups to the owners and vice versa can't be underestimated. It will only work and continue to strengthen if fans due join together in the best interests of the team. Attending forums, focus groups, working towards Boost the Budget and the Legacy Fund (and I'm not just talking about money here- there is more needed than cold hard cash, expertise, time and strong community voices are just as valued) I would hope that in spite of the perceived injustice of the cost of entrance on Saturday we will have a decent turnout, a demonstration of support for all those who are working hard to try and move this Club forward, who want to make it a place which is welcoming, with a family ethos and where people can come together and have a sense of community and belonging. Without the fans (rich or poor) making an effort, wanting to try and be the bigger Club, to be something. It will never happen and love them or not, at least the owners are trying to support the vision of the majority of fans who believe in Clarence Park and what it stands for.

I agree that we could have a lot worst set of owners, but not so sure that they "believe in Clarence Park and what it stands for" since they obviously wish to move to another ground as soon as possible.

[quote author=" jj123" what can they do to influence a couple of owners who rarely attend the games? and you have attended how many games this season ? All game excluding the Ebbsfleet game, and I went to the away games to Eastbourne and Gosport. Im just sick and tired of being ripped off by the owners who dont really have any interest in the club - apart from some form of business contract.

The arrangement / agreement between the club and the supporters groups is similar to the arrangement between Real Madrid and Spurs. "We'll be friends with you as long as we get Bale"

A rip off would be where the owners take our money and profit from it. However, in this case the owners don't make profit and have to put their own money in every year to keep the club going at this level. So not sure how your comment is really valid jj123

My comment is valid because they are charging for a product which isnt worth that price.
Being the most expensive club in the league yet performing as one of the worst.

Apologies- my reference to Clarence Park was meant as a entity- regardless of location. I'm watching the movements on the ground with eager anticipation as most are- but the Owners to their credit are in full support of using "the ground" be it in its current location or any future one for the benefit of the wider community and not as a profit making scheme (granted if a bit of promotion came from it which leads to additional ticket sales then its a win win for them) This is something the supporters groups are actively working on at the moment and would welcome feedback and suggestions from fans (and offers of help to make it work)

"We'll be friends with you as long as we get Bale" Please see my response to Canary Saint. I again make a call to anyone on this forum with ideas about how the Club as a whole can reach out to the Community to speak up.
