Moving on, this Saturday we play a team with 6 games in hand of us as we sit at the bottom of div and also Ebbsfleet at the top. They have scored more and conceded less goals than any team from 12th down with games in hand of everyone. It looks like a daunting task to get anything from this one but optimism is a wonderful thing I reckon. Nothing but wins will do for us from now on and even that would not necessarily guarantee our survival. We've been here before. All too often recently. COYS give us something to cheer!!

Their recent form is poor though with 2 points from the last 6 games.

The 4 teams immediately above us have difficult games this weekend or play each other :-
Havant & Waterlooville vs Maidstone Utd Wealdstone vs Basingstoke Weston-super-Mare vs Chelmsford City
If we were able to win on Saturday and results go our way, our position would look a bit healthier on Saturday evening. With Weston and Chelmsford playing each other, a win for either side would suit us and keep the 19th placed team on 30 points.
Hayes and Yeading are also away at Ebbsfleet Utd, so the bottom of the table may be closer at 5pm on Saturday.

Apparently Ben's been suspended by the club for a week, so won't be playing today.

Great team performance from all, especially from Anderson, clean sheet so important psychologically and good to see Darren Locke back and stabilising the defence. Lets hope this will stop the negative comments on this forum and give the management and players a chance to move forwards and to continue with their new found confidence. Come on Saints, it's not over yet!

A brilliant all round team performance today, with much, much more movement, a better shape and a terrific work rate. A special mention for Darren Locke and Josh Staunton at cb with another great showing from Harry Anderson. Finally, an absolute master class by Charie MacDonald, scoring four and setting up the fifth for Theo.
Now we need to keep this going for every single one of those last 11 games.
COYS!

A very impressive and encouraging result. I followed the updates on Twitter from abroad.
I've been particularly impressed with Ian Allinson's post-match interviews since he arrived. I used to really enjoy listening to Jimmy Gray talking about the games and, while it's nothing personal, I couldn't get through Harry Wheeler's interviews – it never seemed like he was saying anything of substance. But Allinson does inspire confidence with what he says and how he says it.
We could have done without Havant and Hayes getting a point each last night but at this stage it's all about the points we can pick up. We are still three wins from being in touch with 19th place.

The difference between Alllinson, Wheeler and Grays interviews is that Allinson and Wheeler have a decent knowledge about the game and talk a lot of sense about the technical side of the game. Gray just used to say pretty much the same thing every week which included numerous football cliches.
