We have 12 confirmed players so far I think? Only one striker.
Snedker; Herd, Bender, Tingey, Moore-Azille, Kiangbeni; Noble, Diedhiou, Sambou, Banton, da Costa; Merson
Unless I've missed someone out?

That's a loss for us. Lucien and RMW were our best wide players last year imo. A change of tactics?

The loss of Lucien does not exactly strengthen our squad methinks... and Albanian, you mentioned four players, but Im sure Fergie never had a 25% failure signing rate.. but I stand to be corrected... and by failure I mean pants( and Imsure someone from Mancs saw players play before purchase)... glad you agree with me that IA was responsible for end of season debacle.. cmon APPY, you cant be an apologist forever!!!! how did our budget compare for first six games? If we dont get 18 points from seasons first six games is that an improvement on last season considering how we have fallen away after January last two seasons??... and with the BIG BUDGET teams coming into our div? Unless we get approval for new ground etc by Xmas will the owners pull plug? In which case last seasons missed opportunity to get into play offs ( and perhaps National footie) will be even more expensive(discuss) and surely the plan for League Football(LOL) will be put back(ie we're **%%ed). Saw Lucien and his agent last week. No suggestion that Shawn would be leaving. Much as G&Ghad to go they got us into this League.. lets hope we can stay in it next season.

Personally l think it's a loss of Lucian has gone, when he played he gave us a bit of width

So, who have we actually lost from last Seasons squad for definate ? I make it it's just Charlie Walker (Eastbourne) Tom Gardiner (Wealdstone) and now Shaun Lucien (Hampton) . I'm sure l might've missed someone somewhere and there is possibly going to be someone else yet

I'd say all managers sign as many duds as successes. The duds get moved on pretty quickly, so don't necessarily get noticed by people outside the club. Just looks at how many players Hemel get through a season. Don't think Pinney's worth wasting any more time on. He cost us nothing but a few weeks wages. Last season was a missed opportunity, but it's unfair to lay that all on the manager/players. The fact that our club is unsustainable and the owners may pull out in the next couple of years is not their fault. It's hard to know what to expect from next season. We've retained most of the core of last year's squad, so could be quite competitive with a few good signings. Having said that, with some big teams joining the league next season it feels more likely that we'll be bumped down to mid-table.

Aren't most clubs unsustainable, to varying degrees?

Yes many are. The issue is the owners have made it clear they're not willing to subsidize the club indefinitely. Next season's squad will be the least of our worries if they do walk away.

It'll be a worry, yes, but won't be as devastating as some people seem to think...

I don't think the club will cease to exist. There are too many people that care to let that happen. Other than that, it's very hard to say. If we can't find new owners that are willing to subsidize the club, then we'll probably drop down a couple of divisions. I don't think that's the end of the world, but it would be disappointing after the progress we've made over the last 5 years. Difficult circumstances can often result in new opportunities, so who knows where the club will be in 10 years time. I agree that we'll probably be ok, muddling along like we have for the last 110 years.

Personally think we're being to cynical ad if the owners do leave(hopefully not) I still doubt we would drop down a few divisions with the area being close to London for players and strong core fanbase

I said we'd drop down a couple of divisions IF we didn't find new owners willing to subsidize. That's pretty much indisputable. We can't sustain a Conference South team through ticket sales alone. There's every chance we'd find new owners willing to throw a bit of cash at it though.

I’m not so sure. I think business people are unlikely to throw money in an empty pit.

I’m not so sure. I think business people are unlikely to throw money in an empty pit. Yet here we are The owners came in on the basis that we could relocate. Same with previous chairmen. The longer that cycle goes on, the shorter the queue of willing owners becomes. Especially as CP gets older and more expensive to maintain and the football on the pitch gets more competitive and expensive to maintain

Yes but look at the history of ownership and funding of the club. We’ve nearly gone bust a few times. I don’t think thathat’ll ’inspire people to commit themselves to us..

Just go back even to Tominey years

I don't think Harding came in on the basis that we could relocate - he only had to look at Tominey's experiences to realise he'd be up against it. And relocation wasn't his modus operandi for a successful football club, either. Maybe Gibson came in with the idea of relocating, what with him being a director of a huge London building company and all, but that didn't go well either. But apparently it didn't stop McGowan and Levy coming in thinking they could relocate, apparently... It's only getting one year older every year. The peppercorn rent hasn't increased has it? Maybe the owners should think about putting ticket prices up

Been after a new ground since 2004 and still going strong, now worried about the training pitches being turned into housing? Good thing we don't have that to worry about.
What kind of major works do you think could be in the offing in the next, say, 15 years?
