Silly Question in many ways l guess, but l don't live in St Albans, What is the situation with the pitch at Clarence Park and plan now after the snow last night ? A pitch inspection later or a very early one tomorrow morning to prevent Weston from travelling as the case may well be. I know the covering of snow can vary from place to place, especially from upper to lower levels of ground, but l only live a short way away in Luton and there's a fair covering here.

Never mind weather in St.Albans... what about the weather in Somerset.? It is a lot worse there according to reports. Weston might not be able to travel!

Zero degrees tonight and a maximum of 3 tomorrow. It will be off. Well l don't know how much of a covering of snow there is on the pitch and if the lines have been cleared or not, but those temperatures could see it being called off

Games tend to get called off with a slight dusting of snow these days. Refs don’t want to be liable for injuries should they give a game the go-ahead. Also clubs are concerned with snow and ice covered areas of the ground for spectator safety. Back in the day I played in goal for Harpenden Rovers and dived around on rock hard pitches. How times have changed.

It's like schools closing cos of a bit of snow. It didn't happen when l went to school unless it was really bad, nowadays health and safety has took over. But l guess in this day and age of claims going in for all sorts of things, this is what happens in life and football now

Well now, there's a surprise! Possibly worse than last night even, in terms of it being more frozen.

never mind the pitch ....the terracing was covered in snow and would need to have been cleared surely At least called off in reasonable time for WSM

This Country has become soft a little bit of snow 36 hours ago and they can't play a football match, No wonder people take the p*ss out of the Snowflakes !
I live in a cul de sac and the place is almost completely clear, grass is and as said earlier is soft, could of cleared the terraces yesterday and just put some grit down to stop it freezing.
Even F$*king Truro have got their game on at their own ground !!!

Grass is absolutely fine under the snow where I am. WSM will be delighted to have the trip rearranged to midweek Well, it wasn't just the pitch of course, there was the terraces and the surrounding area. It looked a total whiteout in the photos. How it survived being called off the day before is a mystery to me, l mean what of it all was expected to improve overnight with freezing temperatures forecast .... at a rough guess ..... absolutely nothing!
