Well, that's the thing anyway, for me. I simply couldn't boycott buying burgers etc, at the food can, just as l couldn't boycott the Clubhouse, as l like my food and l like my beer, and its what l've been doing for the last 13 or 14 years since l've been supporting the Clun, but l can see people doing that A packed lunch and a hip flask should help. I might set up a stall on Clarence Road before games

£18 to watch a team on the up after a good season and with a great fan base, is not a lot to pay, especially as the manager seems to know what he is doing and has got the squad motivated and fighting for results. Im really looking forward to watching Rangers at Ibrox this season. Wont be paying that to watch Saints. Outrageous. On the back of the NON LEAGUE DAY debacle this is yet another slap for regular fans.

I really dont know what to do. Ive been a season ticket holder for 5 years.
However i dont like being ripped off. So im thinking of watching Hertford Town Fc as I live near there.
£100 per adult season ticket and £10 per season child.
I can even walk there. But im torn. I just refuse to be exploited.

A boycott is the only way forward. As much as I love the club, the owners need to be shown there are limits to how far they can push it.
I know there was a lot of moaning with the last price increase, but it feels very different this time. Most people I've spoken to will only go to away games next season.

I definitely agree with the notion of a boycott, especially for the first home game of the season. They need to be shown that fans won't stand for this.

if you don't like the entrance fee, don't go its your choice! stop moaning about it, you don't have to finance the club! And some people may well decide not to attend, or to attend less frequently. But people are perfectly entitled to express their opinions.
The thing is, the club can't have it both ways. They can't talk about being an integral part of the community on the one hand and charge League 2 prices on the other.
And the bottom line is, a market exists and St Albans's admission prices are above the market price and so therefore attract comment and criticism. Bear in mind, Woking v Watford was £20 for an FA Cup third round tie this year.

Because it has no relevance to ticket prices.

Because it has no relevance to ticket prices. Hey Bob, They just decided to cut your salary by 100% and now you have to work for free. If you don't like it, don't work it's your choice! They've also put prices up in your local to £10 a pint. If you don't like it don't drink, it's your choice! Not to mention petrol prices that have been increased just for you and no-one else, to £5 per litre. Don't like it, stop driving, it's your choice! Maybe albanian was going to make a relevant point once you'd answered his question. Did you ever think about that? What star sign are you?

Sometimes collective action (including plenty of moaning) can lead to those in power changing their minds. I will be protesting outside the ground before our first home game of the season, before taking my "custom" elsewhere. I hope you consider doing the same.

Carabao cup tickets for Swansea vs Northampton Town are £7.50 for season ticket holders, £10 in advance or £12.50 on the gate after both clubs agreed to a price reduction. www.ntfc.co.uk/news/2019/june/carabao_cup_r1confirmation2/Alternatively we charge £16.50 or £18 on the gate for an FA Trophy game against a Kent League team or Ryman Div 1 team. Glaringly shows what a farce the price increases are !

Interesting tweet showing adult admission prices for all teams in the league. Even the buy in advance price is still higher than the second placed club.

At least one is incorrect. Chelmsford is £15 on the day and £13 if you pre-purchase

£18 entry will definitely affect attendances, so the owners may have to have a rethink. I don't know what the future holds for the club. but a new ground isn't very likely.

Two points here from me.
First, we all know that the Club has limited scope for income. We all know that the current owners have given this Club a lot of support. The price rise is obviously an attempt to maintain the Club at the current level. A lot of players that have passed through the team in recent years have done so to further their non league careers and make a bit of cash, not for any commitment to SACFC. If we don't get so much income then we have to settle for less expensive players. This could be good - younger, more enthusiastic players. But, has its limitations - lack of experience and the game skills that come with that. A few years back, a couple of geezers were putting a lot of money into Whitehawk. That stopped, for various reasons. The Hawks have dropped down a couple of leagues. They've got a much younger squad, and they've had to accommodate to the funds available. Their fans still support the club and enjoy their football. But, they don't have as many moaners and people with a sense of entitlement as at SACFC - for various understandable reasons. I know all the arguments about a new ground and the dream of the football league. But, for our history, our location near to so many big clubs, and our finances, we've been punching above our weight for sometime. We're lucky we've got people like Lawrence Levy and Ian Allison involved. Those as ancient as me will have memories of how much bleaker things can get. There is no easy solution to this.
Second, an entrance fee to see the Saints play is a market transaction. And market prices are always disputed by moral arguments - there are some fascinating and utterly tedious books about this issue. On one level, there are disputes about how much (if anything) you or I should pay for a hip operation, a degree in Football Studies (yes, they exist) or ticket to see Sir Mick Jagger jumping around on stage. As some of the more reasonable posters on this forum have said, paying to watch the Saints is not simply a market transaction in which you either pay or not, it comes with all sorts of associated ideas about community, history and belonging - for fans of this club, and for fans of other teams that make a big contribution to the camaraderie that is part of non-league football. Anyone who thinks that is simply a choice of either paying or not paying is someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing; a cynic. I don't think the owners are being cynical. I do think they've misjudged the moral economy.

Has anyone thought how much the new electronic ticketing system has cost to install and operate? How much of the price increase is needed to pay for this?

Has anyone thought how much the new electronic ticketing system has cost to install and operate? How much of the price increase is needed to pay for this? Upfront costs negligible. Kaizen used by many clubs in non league and make money from transactions. Check out the kaizen website. It's a very cist effective solution for clubs. Very reasonable post barker
