Cost cutting at its absolute finest. Whilst increasing tickets prices at the same time ..... Ian can give all the advice he wants but will the owners take any notice? I think we all know the answer to that one.

That looks like a wish list for somebody trying to impress the local council.

You could never impress the council. They are intransigent.

Thanks. It sounds a good idea, but I guess time will tell.

That said, on the face of it, they do sound like good things to develop, but transitioning the Club to full time ? Can we or will we ever be able to go full time ? I don't live in the St Albans area so I don't know much about St Albans Council, but it seems to me that it's difficult getting a new ground for whatever reasons, so that barrier will still be there to overcome, and are the owners prepared to manage at full time level, can they seriously do that ? And going full time is opening a whole can of worms anyway, you lose players cos of going full time for a start.

It does say an investigation into the possibility rather than we actually will take that step. However we will see more and more clubs go full time at this level

As you rightly said, it's only an investigation into the possibility of it.

Correct me if I am wrong (I may well be) but has there not been some instances of clubs shifting to full time without actually increasing the budget by relying increasingly on youth? The logic being that you can get a 18/19 year old with aspirations to play a higher level to sign up for the 'opportunity' of playing full time for less than you might pay a experienced 27 semi-pro footballer who knows he will never play league football and quite reasonably wants the going rate for the job? Might many players under 21 actually prefer to play full time rather than semi pro to aid their development ? Obviously you end up with team stripped of experience and may perform worse (not recommending it) but you have technically achieved full time status.
Also want does full time actually mean? This might not apply to pre-season but when matches are coming thick and fast surely the nature of the human body limits you to a couple of hours training a day. So it might be possible to combine this with some form of self-employment or study?

We'd save on pitch hire etc if we got a 4G pitch
But either way, going full time doesn't sound very sustainable if we've managed to finish 10th, 9th and 8th in the last three seasons (at £15 a ticket). What's the ultimate aim? Going up or remaining comfortable where we are? Another appointment another within as well
Maybe it's another move by the owners solely with a new ground in mind

Dealing with St Albans Council regarding planning is difficult. I don't expect them to help the club, but hopefully they will prove me wrong.
