That was certainly an unexpected throughly enjoyable win & performance after recent displays. I thought for the opening 20 minutes we were excellent, and created a number of good openings before the first goal. We somehow then managed to concede 2 goals in a minute & it felt like Maidstone started to dictate the game & we struggled to get a hold of the rest of the first half.
Jeffers replaced Blackman at half time & scored an excellently taken goal after a well played through ball from Gio. Before another well taken goal from James to seal the win.
It appeared we suffered potentially 3 more injuries today & are now down to just 1 fit recognised central defender at the moment which makes the fight & performance that much more pleasing.
Given Tuesday’s bizarre tactic of not bothering to start with a recognised striker playing through the middle it perhaps wasn’t a surprise to see us carry more threat with Mitch & then Shaun playing through the middle. Maybe the idea will catch on for future matches that if you give Jeffers some game time & service he’ll score more clinical goals like he did today. Mad thought though!

Hopefully Rasulo and Fage who both limped off in the second half don’t have serious injuries otherwise I’ll be on the bench at Truro! We rode our luck at times, but overall well done City!

Yep, a good day today, a great win, but let's hope the injuries to Fage and Rasoulo clear up Quickly, we need to get back to having a fully fit sQuad to be able to select from, something we haven't had in a long time

If our side was built around Jeffers, I think we would be in the mix for the playoffs. Our focus on tippy tappy football and trying to emulate Man City in the NLS has us fighting off relegation. Start Jeffers, make St Albans City FC great again.

I am sorry for being like a broken record for the last 2 years but if an ex pro cant get a team built around Weiss and Jeffers playing together up front at this level then something is seriously wrong, and something is SERIOUSLY WRONG!!!

It’s certainly an odd one that we’ve all struggled to understand. Noble appears to have lost faith in Akanbi & there has been glimmers of Shaun finally getting more game time recently. I make that 4 league goals now, only 2 behind Mitch who’s our top scorer with 6. It would be great to just give him a run over the next month but it always feels he’s the first to get left out of the side at any opportunity.

Yes I am not sure if the treatment of SJ is tactical or a money saving ploy. I am more inclined to believe the latter.

Jeffers goal shows why it’s absolutely criminal that he isn’t starting.
The movement and finish - 10x better than anyone else in the squad.
Sorry David Noble, your risk has not paid off and it’s time to go - out of your depth.

If it is, Noble needs to go.

I'm going to upset people now, but I'm going to say this anyway. I may never be allowed to post again, but hey I can still read the threads... And I have an opinion, like the rest of you.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell us more about the game, the players, the injuries, the crowd etc and not moan about Jeffers which isn't so much a broken record as an uninterrupted streaming service.

The frst three scorers in the game yesterday were a Hoddle, Fowler and Rush. Could have been a veterans game.

Well, one swallow doesn't make a summer, as the saying goes, but yesterday's result and performance will certainly help, and wasn't Noble so relieved in his post match interview, as we all were after the game, it seems an age since the last win down at the Park. I just wish the owners would invest some money in the tannoy system ! When you're behind the goals, you can hardly hear what's being said. There needs to be a decent tannoy system right the way around the ground. We've got to try to be lucky with injuries now, get our injured players back, get some consistency going and get the confidence flowing again, only that way will be be able to get a good few more points on board. I'm not a great fan of the tippy tappy football of Noble's that we are playing, the playing out from the back style, it's encouraging the opposition on to us, we're often getting boxed in and mistakes are being made, and then we lose the ball in key areas. We need outlets to do that and use them well, but if Noble is going to persist with that, then work on it in training, make sure the players know their jobs and that they do them properly. Enough has been said about Jeffers without me adding to it, but l will anyway, Jeffers simply has to start games on a consistent basis. If there is a financial reason for him not starting games much, then to hell with it, come on owners, bite the bullet on this one and make sure he is starting games, he is the man up front we all want to see

The tannoy system needs to be upgraded. We have the money to put up more bars around the ground, lets see some investment in something outside craft beer and chicken wings. Hopefully we can pick up some confidence heading into the packed festive season. I would happily take mid table.
