Has anyone heard anything about next season's pre-season friendlies?

Not just yet but I'm sure there'll be announcements fairly soonish, the club's pretty good at getting them organised early on.

The club is still having discussions with other sides over the arrangements, but it shouldn't be too long until we hear. (For example, some clubs only wanted to play us knowing we would be a Conference South side, and therefore discussions couldn't step up until after the play-off)
However, I have heard that there will be at least one Premier League club sending a team.

We need a marquee side plus maybe luton or watford at home to boost coffers and transfer budget for next season, rest of friendlies are for fitness purposes. As for signings raid chesham & Cambs for Potton & Adam Marriott.

Premier League clubs have long since stopped playing their first teams against non-league sides. They're far more interested about boosting their own coffers abroad by promoting their "brand" They don't need to bother about St.Albans, there's enough sheep already getting the train down to Arsenal or Chelsea every other Saturday from here!! Luton and Watford are possibilities but in recent years they have sent an XI or youth team.

I suspect we'll be getting a 'lower half' Premier League side coming down.
We could see a game with Barnet? We've been growing our partnership this season with both Lowe and Sykes coming down.

Ive always thought that a four team tournament with 6 games of 15 mins each way on the day was a going idea. Maybe London Colney and Heath plus Harpenden or Hertford. that would give us a chance to have a look at any new signings as well without it being too big a friendly. Even when we do have a bigger team it is usually and academy type side anyway so they don't attract big crowds.

Didn't we do something like this a few years ago? I seem to remember playing in a pre season tournament which we won on penalties?

I remember Lopez being a handy player.
Junior Harvey wasn't as bad as people made him out to be.
Reiss Noel is currently being done for Match Fixing in Australia last i heard

That jogged my memory as I was there. I believe that Birmingham were part of the day too. Also some supporters had paid to come on and play for their teams. Was a good day. something for us to try maybe.

Possibly a bit late to organise for this close season? Especially the supporters paying to play thing. In my opinion the plan for something like that would have to be in the pipeline, then with the season coming to a fairly successful conclusion, the plan put into place. I'm confident it won't happen but, for example, you'd be less inclined to host a tournament like that if you'd just been relegated, perhaps?
Bit all over the place, this one!

I wouldn't be surprised if QPR have been lined up but are waiting for the outcome of this weekends final

I wouldn't be surprised if QPR have been lined up but are waiting for the outcome of this weekends final I would! My guess is one League 2 development squad and a few local non league teams.

The short answer- No. I suspect we're just going to announce them all at once (Or at least most of them)

You never know Townsend - I remember when Sheffield United brought a near full strength squad the year we were in the Conference

According to our website - www.wingatefinchley.com Wingate & Finchley v St Albans City - Saturday 19th July. Should be a good test for us. And for any ground aficionados, Summers Lane has the oldest concrete cantilever stand in Britain.
