This Saturday (31st July) the Saints play Crawley Town at Clarence Park in their final home match of pre-season.
Crawley Town have had an un-beaten pre-season run, with wins over the likes of a Chelsea XI. Crawley play QPR tonight (28th July) at Broadfield.
Despite attending court today for a winding up order, Crawley have been spending big in the transfer market and are one of the favourites for promotion this season in the BSBP.
City will be hoping to build on their win 3-1 against Waltham Abbey last night (27th July) with a result on Saturday.
This match could be the frist proper test for the Saints, facing an opponent just one league above.
The Saints team will likely be a team mixed with trialists again with the likes of Everitt and Dedman out with injuries.
Kick off is 3pm.
COYS.

Looking forward to this one Saint. Should be a bit more of contest than some of the other games seeing as we are now well into the pre-season.
I'm also interested to see what sort of side Crawley Town will be putting out.

We'll be doing live updates here for today's match for any Saints who can't make it or, indeed, for any absent Crawley fans who haven't made the trip. Not much keeps me away from Clarence Park but unfortunately I've come down with a nasty bout of food poisoning. However, Saint has kindly agreed to forward updates from the match and I'll post up the details as I sit here rubbing my sore stomach and feeling sorry for myself. Line-ups for both teams will no doubt come through quarter-of-an-hour before kick-off.

I'm told that there is a pretty sparse crowd at Clarence Park today. Perhaps everyone is still in the club house.
Just waiting for news of the line-ups.

Unfortunately, our intrepid Saints fan didn't quite manage to get the Crawley team down. Not to worry. We have the Saints team, at least.

Crowd apparently looking a little healthier now.
Main chances have gone Crawley's way so far but apparently the Saints have shown a few good signs and are improving as we reach the halfway point of the first-half.
Score: 0-0.

Half a chance for Sullivan but he's pushed wide of the goal. Fisher picks it up and whips a cross in which reaches Simpson who nods a header wide of the target.

I'm told that it's quite an entertaining affair so far with a good few saves from Bastock.
There has just been a chance in the box for Roberts but he sent it high over the goal.

Saints finishing the half as the better side.
Sullivan just had a one-on-one chance but sent it straight at the goalkeeper.

Apparently an even half with chances for both sides. Drawing at half time is a fair result of both team's performances but the Saints were on top towards the end of the first 45 minutes.

Up early in the morning, sitting in front a computer screen with tea and toast checking out the Saints live update, feels like the season is not too far away now. Anyone know whether the Herts Ad is carrying on with their excellent live coverage of the Saints matches this season? Daedalus, sorry to hear about the food poisoning, presumably you have wifi in the bathroom.

Anyone know whether the Herts Ad is carrying on with their excellent live coverage of the Saints matches this season? Yes, we're not far away now. I don't know if the Herts Ad will continue their service. I haven't heard anything. I think it was a largely popular service so I imagine they would want to continue with it. Exactly that!

Can you use your season ticket for todays game? I have bought two season tickets for my dad and his friend and up until yesterday I have heard that these have not yet been issued.

Can you use your season ticket for todays game? I have bought two season tickets for my dad and his friend and up until yesterday I have heard that these have not yet been issued. Yes you can. I'm also still waiting for my season ticket. I understand, from contacting the club secretary, that there has been some problem with the printers. The turnstiles hold the details of season ticket holders, so if your dad and his friend were to identify themselves at the turnstiles, they would be able to tick them off against their list.

Sub: Roberts has come off for Effiong. Another change has been made involving Peter Smith coming off but we're not sure at the moment who came on. Minor technical hitch.

Some nice skills on show from Sullivan. He's playing well apparently.
No real chances for either side yet. Everitt and Magwood replaced by Peters and Martin (not Ben!)

Deaney (who we earlier referred to by accident as Dealey) has been replaced. Saint hasn't caught the name of the sub.
It always gets rather tricky to keep track of the subs in these friendly matches where practically the whole first XI is being replaced!

Subs coming thick and fast. Frater off for Ashcroft. Simpson replaced by Kweme.
Even play for both sides. The match is being disrupted by the constant substitutions now.
No major chances to report.

Half decent chance falls to sub Glodi Kweme. He fires it straight at the 'keeper.
City haven't got their shooting boots on it seems.
