Looks like my post mentioning A supporters name was deleted. Intrigued to know why X has decided to block a large number of loyal supporters from viewing the clubs official Twitter? Supporters who have followed this club for longer, done more for this club and invested more £ in this club than he ever has? So those who are against the pricing aren’t allowed a voice X? We really are doomed when you hear that LL thought he won the fans forum - laughable. I disagree with the silencing of some very loyal fans from social media, I can agree that its a very poor decision. But why should your time as a supporter be a measure of the passion or loyalty for your club? Surely every fan should have an equal say and it's not about fans who have 'followed this club for longer'? I could be wrong but isnt every fan equal or is there a hierarchy?

Based on the mass blockings on Twitter and other comments in the past few weeks there is a hierarchy and it consists of Lawrence and four or five yes men, with everyone else out of the picture I get the feeling they aren't the kind to admit they are wrong either, even in the face of overwhelming evidence

Or is this just a game of tit for tat.

"Mass blockings" How many exactly? You do like to ask but not answer, don't you? It's a good 9 or 10, isn't it?

Or is this just a game of tit for tat. I think his point was fans who have followed this club for decades who aren't happy about the ticket prices have been blocked by a yes man running the twitter account who hasn't been supporting the club very long It's not a question of who's better than who, it's a question of who's abusing their power

However, whats with this us vs them mentality as it feels like those we are boycotting say they are somewhat more loyal and have been going longer than other supporters. But no one has answered my question around why the length of time uve supported a club makes your point more or less valid than someone else.

As I understand it, a financial proposal was made to the owners shortly before the start of the season that would have enabled them to return the prices to £15 while also saving face. They rejected the offer.

Only three people who have made legitmate comments have been blocked, to your knowledge.
How about the football club blocks no people? That'd be decent wouldn't it. If the club believes wholeheartedly in its policy then blocking is unnecessary. The club stands by its decision and supporters are free to criticise it (without using offensive language or targeting individuals, of course). And even if they do use inappropriate language or name individuals, why not issue a request not to do so, or issue a clear warning that blocking may be a consequence if such action is repeated.
Otherwise it doesn't look great.

Also, messages have been deleted, any reference to £18 is gone A Slough fan contacted me to say his message had been deleted
9 people were blocked last night, all the most vocal, not a single abusive message
As for the division between the fans, well we all left after the last game of last season vs Torquay all friends and nobody cared if you'd been there a week or a lifetime, something that the club did in the summer that they knew would cause divisions happened and now here we are, people are boycotting, some very vocal, some not so
The people that have decided that they want to ride this power trip just happen to be new fans and maybe we are doing them a disservice, maybe they don't understand the football family, what is an acceptable price to pay (whilst paying nothing I assume), that the fans are the club The people who are spinning /blocking people / promoting / gagging others are all from the Levy top table - yes men, associates and ambassadors
The sad thing for me is I liked all these people and I hope one day soon I will like them again

You seem to be sure that the only reason for blocking was for criticsim of ticket prices. Is that actually correct?

Yours is an irrelevant point, Pitchside. A football club's official Twitter feed should not be blocking people unless there are serious offensive comments. And by that I mean racism, sexism, defamation. Not just stuff an individual finds unpalatable.
Swearing or other insulting language should merit a warning, of course, but blocking is generally a sign of weakness. Issue a warning, give a clear set of guidelines regarding what will and won't be tolerated and if there are multiple breaches by all means take further action.
But from what I can determine from looking at the Twitter feed it seems that the @stalbanscityfc account is reacting in an overly sensitive manner.

As far as I can see it, the issue isn't who's supported the club longest, but that long term supporters have had their motives/loyalty questioned because they won't tow the line. That one particular supporter is using their powers to silence our concerns is particularly troubling. I'm all for passionate debate, but ultimately we all need to respect each others positions.

Not to mention people posting stuff like: 'Our student price of £6 is one of the cheapest in the league...' Student prices were announced at £7 in advance and £8 on the gate. Have they changed? Either way, student tickets on the gate are cheaper at Bath, Billericay, Braintree, Concord, Dulwich, Eastbourne, Hungerford, Oxford City, and Slough. Not exactly one of the cheapest in the league. 'And family package for £27 (2 adults, 2 U16s) is only cheaper at one other club!' A family package is £30 on the gate. Bath and Hemel do a family package for £25. So alongside those two, buying two full price adult tickets and two full price u16 tickets is cheaper at Billericay, Chippenham, Eastbourne, and Oxford City. Cheaper at more than just one club. 'Too many forget these details' Details? Our advance student price is actually £6.20 because when the club secretly updated the prices they forgot to factor in the booking fee It's just one shambles after another. I hope the original poster of this tweet is going to try and clarify the situation but I very much doubt it. Unless Lawrence tells him to, of course.

I hear it could be as many as 20 people that have been blocked on twatter.
Part of the issue with the discussion with longer standing fans and newer fans is it is a newer fan that is using his position to block (mostly) longer supporting fans on LL say so and he probably wouldn't do this if he had supported through some of the other Chairman we have had before and experienced the issues others had.

Again hiding the on the gate price.
I wonder what would happen if I bought a concession ticket then turned up on the gate and said I'd forgotten my Premier League / Football League season ticket...

You do like to ask but not answer, don't you? It's a good 9 or 10, isn't it? I've only seen 3 saying they've been blocked Well it’s considerably more than three. All of those that I’m aware of being blocked have voiced their frustrations in completely reasonable ways but have been silenced by these power hungry members of the Happy Clappy club. I have also had many social media posts deleted as it didn’t suit the clubs agenda.

It's strange how pitchsidesaint thinks that the number of people he or she has seen saying they have been blocked must equal the number of people that have actually been blocked. Then again, he or she claimed all the volunteers are in support of the price rise so he or she has previous with that kind of thing

So the club care more about fans of professional football clubs than their own fans, see how loyal they become to the club

I am curious as to what Pitchside Saint thinks to supporters of other clubs paying significantly less than actual fans of the club. You can't ask that, HE / she will ban you from this message board like HE / she has been banning others from social media platforms.
