www.stalbanscityfc.com/player-departures-confirmed/St Albans City Football Club would like to confirm the departures of Dara Dada, Jordan Kinoshi and Joseph Chidyausiku. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the trio for their hard work and commitment throughout the season. Additionally, we can confirm that goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics returned to his native Latvia, joining up with Virslīga side Valmiera, just prior to the early conclusion of the season. Chid Onokwai was also released at this time. Everyone at St Albans City would like to wish all five players the best of luck in their careers going forward.

Fair enough, none of them made too much of an impression and it frees up money for new signings. However, they all played a part and I wish them well for the future.

Well, ever since last season was knocked on the head, going forward, it was always going to be about shaping up the squad for next season, so this is the start, let's just hope we can keep the good main players in the squad and add some decent ones to it

Bit of a coincidence that we have released 5 players yesterday and Erling Haaland's dad and his lovely agent are coming over to England today to talk to 3 English clubs. Maybe something we don't know going on 😜

Good luck to Luke. I thought he was a good player and am sorry to see him go. Does this suggest Tom is now solely a left-back instead of sometimes playing in the centre?

I just hope we keep the core of last seasons squad, but l know football is never as simple as that, players heads get turned far too easily by better offers elsewhere, or their agents heads do. But if we do keep the core of last seasons squad as we seem to be so far, and add some Quality to it, to make a better all round squad than even last season when we were doing so well before shutdown, then more the merrier. I'm sure IA will be trying to do that anyway

Just seen that. I thought he was a good player for us as well. I'd agree with that. Always caused danger to the opposition down the left. Good luck from me, as well.

www.stalbanscityfc.com/sole-returns-to-the-park/We are delighted to announce the signing of Liam Sole following his release from Championship outfit Nottingham Forest. Liam will be a familiar face for Saints fans, having spent 16 games on-loan at Clarence Park during the 2018/19 campaign. The former MK Dons youngster proved to be a popular figure with supporters during his stay in Hertfordshire following a number of impressive performances, including scoring a 91st minute equaliser against Wealdstone in just his second game for the Club. The twenty-one-year-old can play on either wing or as a forward, and was a key target for City boss Ian Allinson as he prepares for the 2021/22 season. We are sure that you will all join us in welcoming Liam back to the Saints!

Michael Johnson has signed up for the 2021/22 season. Probably the most important signing we will have after defensive improvement last season.

Two more excellent signings today. After his injury lay off in 19/20, it took a while for Zane to get back into it fully last season. I can see the 21/22 season being the making of him. Huge potential.

We seem to be resigning a good few from last seasons squad which is good, the nucleus of last seasons squad. That and a bit of strengthening around the edges and the resigning of one or two more and hopefully we'll be good to go

www.stalbanscityfc.com/bender-commits-future-to-the-saints/With Ian Allinson’s preparations for the new season continuing at pace, we are pleased to announce that the latest player to commit their future to the Club is fan favourite Tom Bender. Tom arrived at Clarence Park in November 2015 and has been an ever-present part of the squad since. The 28 year-old quickly established himself as a reliable figure at left-back or centre-half, and featured in a starring role throughout the curtailed 2020/21 season. www.stalbanscityfc.com/kaloczi-makes-it-two-in-a-day/Central defender James Kaloczi has re-signed with the Saints for the 2021/22 campaign. James made his debut as a youngster in December 2012 having come through the ranks of St Albans City Youth, and is now in his third spell with the Club having re-joined in March 2019. The 26-year-old was one of the standout players of the 2020/21 season, putting in a string of fine performances that contributed significantly to a defence that conceded just ten goals in fifteen league games. James, who can also provide cover as a defensive midfielder, has made 138 appearances for the Saints so far. We’re sure that all supporters will warmly welcome the news of James’ stay in AL1!
