www.stalbanscityfc.com/abebiyi-arrives-in-al1/We are delighted to announce our second new signing of the summer in the form of defender Callum Adebiyi. Callum, who is equally adept at playing at left back or centre-half, arrives at Clarence Park from Southern League Premier outfit Kings Langley. The 26-year-old has also previously turned out for Hemel Hempstead Town and Hayes & Yeading, and was a key target for manager Ian Allinson as he looks to strengthen an already impressive back-line. Please join us in welcoming Callum to the Saints!

www.stalbanscityfc.com/jeffers-commits-to-saints/We are excited to confirm that 2020/21 top-scorer Shaun Jeffers has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Clarence Park for the forthcoming campaign. The 29-year-old signed for the Saints last summer and quickly found his scoring touch in the yellow and blue, going on to net eleven goals in twenty games in all competitions. The forward also scored one of the stand-out efforts of the season, an 89th minute rocket to secure all three points against Dartford back in November.

Good news! I was getting worried about the lack of strikers. If we can get Michael Weiss to re-sign and Joe Iaciofano to rejoin I’ll be very happy.
Let’s hope next season can go ahead without interruption, preferably with crowds in attendance, even if with reduced capacity.

Yeah l agree, its reassuring to know that we have re-signed some firepower up front and Jeffers is a decent player. Michael Weiss would be good, but Joe Iaciofano ? Has he been released by Havant then ?

I've just seen that Harry Forster has been released by Watford. He looked useful when he was on loan with us last season. They've also released a striker named Sam Dalby who played regularly for the Under-23s and I believe made a first team appearence or two. These two could be worth a look.

www.stalbanscityfc.com/akinola-extends-clarence-park-stay/Attacking midfielder Romeo Akinola has become the latest member of last season’s squad to re-sign for the 2021/22 Vanarama National League South season. The 22-year-old progressed through the youth ranks of Queens Park Rangers and Swedish club IFK Ostersund, before returning to England and impressing for Isthmian Premier side Haringey Borough. Romeo signed with the Saints last summer and has impressed Ian Allinson and his coaching team, despite finding playing time limited so far. We hope that supporters will join us in congratulating Romeo on his new deal at the Club!

www.stalbanscityfc.com/nwabuokei-leaves-clarence-park/Following discussions between the Club and Solomon Nwabuokei, we can confirm that the 25-year-old midfielder has departed AL1 after failing to agree a new deal. Everyone at St Albans City would like to thank Solomon for his commitment and service throughout the last two seasons, and wish him all the best going forward.

Why have we started saying "has departed AL1"

It's a shame about losing Solomon, but as with any decent player you lose, you hope a decent replacement comes in

Why have we started saying "has departed AL1" Another poncy marketing phrase that means nothing to supporters.

Why have we started saying "has departed AL1" Possibly social media-related, as it uses just three characters, although ‘City’ is only one more and ‘CP’ is one less. I suppose that it gives new supporters a clue to the location of the ground. Vomit-inducing, regardless.

www.stalbanscityfc.com/brown-signs-on-the-dotted-line/We are delighted to announce the signing of Luke Brown from Hertfordshire neighbours Hitchin Town. The 24-year-old, who can play as either an attacking midfielder or a forward, arrives at Clarence Park following some impressive performances for the Southern Premier Division outfit, including a notable hat-trick against Mickleover Sports in the FA Trophy in December of 2020. Those performances caught the eye of Ian Allinson, who wasted no time in bringing the former University of Maryland player into the Saints fold. Please join us in welcoming Luke to Clarence Park!

I was hoping Joe would rejoin us. The thought of him and Jeffers together would worry most National League South defenders.
I’m surprised he’s gone to Oxford City though. No disrespect to them but they’re not usually one of the strongest teams in the division.

oxford are probably offering more money, doubt it would be any other reason. Sadly, it hardly ever is for any other reason these days, money talks. Then there are players agents, but don't get me started on them!
