Looking to run further than Chelmsford rather than score more goals than them COYS Noble would start Mo Farah over Haaland. Lunacy to not start with Jeffers.

One down two to go, well done Shaun. How many City fans made it tonight? I wish the final was at a neutral ground, a real shame for everyone to have to travel to the oppositions ground three times

I’m getting too old for all this stress,
Nobody could claim it was a particularly good game, there was too much pressure on both sides, but I felt we were the better side and made more chances. As I left I heard two Chelmsford fans saying the same thing,
I hope Moore will be fit for Sunday. If not, it could be worth starting with a back four so we can play Jeffers and Weiss up front, although I think Abidiyi is a better centre back than left back. Roll on Sunday!

A really tight game, not high on quality, that ebbed & flowed. Both teams had periods on top, without overly threatening & it was probably no surprise to anyone at the ground that it was Shaun Jeffers that popped up with the winning goal. Last night was the perfect example of why stats, data and the amount of running you do simply doesn’t matter when it comes to putting the ball in the net.
A good turn out by the saints fans but I’m in complete agreement with Noble & his comments about the ridiculous pitch invasions. Just stay off the pitch.
Dartford on Sunday will be different test. We showed two weeks ago we could match them but we can’t be as wasteful if we want to have any chance of winning.

I thought David Noble was a little down on the St Albans performance. Saints were very much in control for long spells, particularly in the first half, but didn't really capitalise on the possession by creating clear-cut chances. Yes, Saints lived dangerously at times, especially after taking the lead in extra time.
As a supporter, I am definitely in the 'Start Jeffers' camp but I do get what Noble is saying. When Jeffers is in the team they tend to get a bit more one-dimensional. But, of course, he scores goals and he's by far the most dangerous attacking threat. I do think there's some merit in starting without him and then bringing him on as the opponents start to tire.
It doesn't necessarily follow that because he scores when he comes on he should definitely start. Football is now a 100-minute game, even at this level, and the subs can make a huge difference. McConnell coming on with fresh legs and running all across their back line definitely gave them plenty to think about and Batman and Robin at the back didn't really have the legs to cope with it.
But, the moment it doesn't work the obvious criticism will be 'You should have started Jeffers'.
I'd never been to Chelmsford before but what a strange place to play football. The little covered stand at one end looked fun (I was too late getting down that end to get a spot in there for the second half). The metal terrace at the other end was fine as I was in the back row so had a good view. But everywhere else was miles from the pitch.
Agree with the manager about the pitch invasion. Not just because it denied the players a chance to celebrate properly with the supporters but also because there should be an element of respect for the hosts. Imagine how we'd feel if 200 away fans ran all over the Clarence Park pitch after beating us in the play-offs. Would be pretty bloody irritating.
Onto Dartford now. Difficult but not impossible.
