www.stalbanscityfc.com/michael-bostwick-signs-for-the-25-26-season/The saints sign experienced defender Michael Bostwick. I think this is a good signing played for a bunch of football league clubs and knows Ian well. Yes he coming to the end of his career but will make sure our back line is stable and if Banton doesn't take the captaincy I think he might.

He appears to be a winner. Which I always think is a good thing. His age (always assuming he is fit) should not be a problem a this level.

Should be a good signing. Knows the gaffer and will be demanding very high standards from his teammates. Not coming here to finish low down the league

Squad is being filled with glorified pub players. I wouldn't be saying that to Michael Bostwick, if I were you.

Frendo was the perfect signing to get us out of the Southern Prem, proven goalscorer at that level and the results spoke for themselves. Signing a load of mercenary players from the higher leagues to play in the Isthmian would be a disaster, we’ve seen a few National South players sign for clubs at step 7 this summer so far, you really have to question the ambition and motive of those players Hope this isn’t the case for Bostwick dropping from the National league…. Seriously though it’s a great signing and adds much needed experience into this young side!

Remember him at Stevenage, think he had a few spells there and became a legend,
Good luck to him and hopefully steadies the ship, although hasn’t played a game since November, conceding 34 in the 17 he appeared in up to November, granted in a very tough division.
So let’s hope his legs haven’t completely gone.
Post on the Boston forum: “Bostwick: Thank him for last season but looked way off the pace at the start of this season and hasn't played for what feels like six months now. Working part-time at Tesco in Bourne apparently and I suspect given their recent promotion he could sign for them or Spalding next season. Be absolutely staggered if he's playing step 1 or 2 next season!”

Well, a bit of experience at the back, should help steady the ship a bit

Squad is being filled with glorified pub players. I wouldn't be saying that to Michael Bostwick, if I were you. 5 years ago I wouldn't be saying that fella. Hope he proves me wrong, but my contacts from Boston say his legs went a while back. Hope he proves them wrong and gets us out of this pub league.

St Albans City can confirm the signing of George Sippets ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 20-year-old forward arrives after an impressive individual campaign, scoring 20 goals across two clubs. He began the 2024/25 season with Colney Heath, where he netted 6 times before moving to Hayes & Yeading United, adding a further 14 goals.
George’s performances at Hayes & Yeading Utd earned significant recognition, as he was named Supporters’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and also picked up the club’s Goal of the Season award.
George will now continue his journey at Clarence Park, looking to continue his development and build on a promising year.
The squad is continuing to shape up but I can't help to notice how young it is. The average age at the moment is: 24.5. Against Truro it was 25.6, Although still a long way to go in the summer window to bring in a bit more experience, especially in the middle.

Remember his dad back in the early 00’s, didn’t last long but scored a couple of goals.

Yep, another signing. At the end of the day it's all about starting the season (not that I'll be there) with as good an all round sQuad as possible, with experience in the key areas, there's plenty of time to make it up, we were (l thought) late in getting last seasons squad together

Remember his dad back in the early 00’s, didn’t last long but scored a couple of goals. Garry had a decent career in non-league football, but never got a regular place with us (3 goals in 6 appearances). Scored 45 goals in a season at London Colney and also scored regularly for Berkhamsted, Hemel, Chesham & Slough. Also scored 5 against us in the infamous Herts Charity Cup game at Hemel, when our youngsters were fielded and lost 10-0 !!

I remember that game - in November 2008. Ouch - that's all I'm going to say!

On Bostwick I've seen some posts here saying they thought "his legs had gone" and some saying his experience in defence will see us through. I say that he has played under Culvers previously at other clubs and Culvers may be gambling that he will come through again. We've just got to trust Culvers' judgement here and hope he comes good.

The squad isn't looking too bad now, but there again we said that last season. At least we've got a good manager and coaches whose training methods will improve the player's fitness. I think a lot of the problems last season early on was that players were getting injured too easily. Still need a decent keeper though.

I wouldn’t get too excited, TNS average 360.

I wouldn’t get too excited, TNS average 360. They did get 5,716 at home (Shrewsbury) to Panathinaikos last season but lost 2-0.

A friend of mine bumped into the chairman of another Isthmian League club today and he thinks it'll be between us and Billericay for the league. Whereas some some of the signings might seem a bit underwhelming on paper it appears we've pipped a lot of clubs to their signatures
Jasper has had a lot of praise on social media

Bringing a range of firepower options in earlier does at least seem to be more of a priority this year than last, which is something.

I suppose 2 key components in how well we do next season will depend on what Culvs and Bazza can get out of the players and how fit the players can stay at, but there are of course many, many features to a good season. To me, so far thou, it isn't a sQuad that jumps right into your face, not much in the way of stellar signings, l feel more is needed, but lm sure there is time for more players to be added, l hope so anyway

At a guess, it's a midtable position for us. Anything other that that would be a bonus.

At a guess, it's a midtable position for us. Anything other that that would be a bonus. That is my feeling fella, potentially lower mid table though. If the owners can't afford to run the club, they should sell up.
