City's Midweek Youth team added to their undefeated record in the Allied Counties East Division and league title with a 3-0 win at Burnham last night.
The report from Burnham's website is reproduced below:
"A very skillful St Albans City side, already crowned champions of the Division easily defeated a weakend Burnham side .The home team matched their opponents early on and Matt Lee had a good chance to put them ahead after a fine cross field ball from Harry Pearse. However as the game progressed the visitors took control and went ahead of 21 minutes when KEN OUBUAGUI, got to a through ball ahead of Blues keeper Scott Badham. Further first half chances fell to Matt Taylor and Gio Lee- Baptiste. The second half saw the Saints dominating but wasted chances, plus some fine stops from keeper Badham and outstanding defensive performances from Matt Humphries and Ben Pulsford kept the visitors at bay. That is until the 65th minute when after constant pressure JOE ZAZZERA stooped to head in from close range. Further opportunities came the way of the Saints, with the outstanding Josh Davies striking the crossbar. Little was seen of the Burnham attack but they did have one great chance to pull a goal back when substitute Veeru Baidwan delivered an excellent cross into the Saints goal area which was missed by defenders and attackers. The goalscoring ended on 84 minutes when speedy and impressive JAMALLE PARKE-JUDE cut in from the right to make it 3-0."
Burnham team: Scott Badham, Ryan Weissner, Mason Balducci, Nozomi Satake, Ben Pulsford, Tom Williams, Jamie Hirst (Kadeem Rodriques 57 mins), Matt Lee (Veeru Baidwan 63) Harry Pearse, Ollie Sheehan
