Chippenham Town's official websiteChippenham Town fans' forumDon't forget that the end of season party and giving of awards will be taking place after the match. Click here for details. Unfortunately, it's just another quick match thread this time around as things have been hectic for me. So I thought I would just put a quick match thread up and hopefully it won't matter too much as we're at the end of the season now anyway. I'll add any interesting team news or links that come up to this thread. Worth noting that the Herts Ad appears to be doing some updates on their Twitter account, so if you aren't able to attend, you may be able to keep in touch with the action through this link - twitter.com/#!/HertsAdSport Hopefully we'll also have some coverage on the forums with some brief updates of what's happening at the match in this thread. Anyone know how the C.P. pitch is holding up ? My back garden is resembling the Louisiana Swaplands after all this rain.

Goal: 0-1 Chippenham. 2nd min. Stern. Jupp challenged by Stearn, and he possibly spills it Or has it knocked out his hands) and its an easy finish.

City 1-2 Chippenham. 15th min. Griffiths. Lino deems that ball croses the line after a bit of goal mouth scramble after a corner.

I've just read on SACFC.co.uk that Micah Hyde and Sean Shields were missing through illness and injury. It was still a disappointing first XI today though. Where were Matt Cutchey, Simon Martin and Sakho Bakare? I was surprised by a few selection choices. Why didn't Comley start in the middle with Ijaha, for example? Personally, I felt that it was a weak team and a typical end of season performance from the Saints. I know that it's easy to stand on the terraces and criticise without having all of the facts and perhaps I'm getting it all wrong. However, one definite fact is that we ended the season at Clarence Park with a whimper rather than a bang and that was very disappointing.

I too thought it was a weak line up and i make no apologies for saying our 12 match unbeaten record was well and trully broken in fact smashed by a team i believe hadn't won this year !
Not a good way to finish @ Home
Well done Nick although it wasn't one of his best days

Plus Matt Cutchey was out due to work commitments. So that does explain the weakened side fielded yesterday.
I wonder why Bakare was dropped? Has that something to do with his rumoured move back to Switzerland perhaps?

I think he was just looking at some of the fringe players before deciding if to keep them next season, I think he answered his own question, no!

Danny Hart is off to Australia, as per yesterdays Tweet
I think there will be a fair few changes before next season starts. We have the core of a good team but some of the squad players need to be of better quality.

That was a really woeful way to end the season at home.....Ijaha, Watts and Gray were playing Chippenham on their own, and 3 against 11 is never going to work. Mc Gonigle was simply awful, and Furlong no better. Anyway I suppose the game didn't matter, but 450 people paid to watch it, and something better should have been produced. Very discouraging after the good recent run, and if Chippenham had been half decent it would have a real thrashing. Having said that their first goal should have been disallowed, barging the ball out of the keepers hands is not permitted. What was very strange was that no one in the Saints team seemed to care.
