I missed Saturday's game as I was visiting my daughter at Uni in Bournemouth. On stopping at Winchester services about 1pm I bumped into the Tonbridge Angels squad. The first person I saw was David Ijaha who I very nearly said to, 'Come back to the Saints' but as he was with the other squad members I thought it might wind him up ahead of the game this Saturday. He obviously didn't need winding up after getting sent off on 2 mins against Eastleigh. Is he suspended for Saturday's game? Having said all that Coms and Richard give us better control in Midfield ala Mansfield first half especially.

So big game Saturday! I had a look at the Angels forum today and the general consensus is that they are pretty confident on getting the win mainly due to the Angels beating Eastleigh. This seems to have inspired confidence and also due to the addition of Shamir Goodwin on loan from Brighton, has seen an upturn in form. This is all fair enough but this is how I see it.
Since our first match with Tonbridge we are a totally different kettle of fish. We have new additions of our own and I think Jemal Lowe will be a great signing for the club. We have Tom Ward, which has bolstered our defence, given us a bit more mobility at the back and gives us a different option. It was Ram Marwa's first game or close to it for the club and had not played football in nearly a year. He is now one of the key players in our midfield and has done a fantastic job. Hopefully from what James said in his last interview we will have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season. Touchwood! Ben Martin and Locke hopefully will be available, although the postponing of our reserve match may mean starting them both with little match fitness could be a disaster. What ever happens on Saturday providing we play to our potential it will be a fascinating match.
We don't have that element of suprise this time they know what to expect from us. I'd be suprised if they underestimated us again.

David Ijaha is suspended from 7 Dec for 3 games, i.e the first available game Tonbridge play 14 days after last week's Eastleigh game. You're right about James and Richie, that's for sure.

Best available odds: Tonbridge Angels (6/5) Draw (13/5) St Albans (36/17) Those odds for the Saints are rank. I would think that anyone from Tonbridge having a grumble will be more than happy, though.

Here is the match preview from Tonbridge - www.tonbridgeangelsonline.co.uk/news/angels-on-wembley-trail--by-simon-piper-1106519.html?A video clip of last Saturday's away game at Eastleigh - Their keeper (different from our F.A. Cup game) Lewis Carey looked more than competent but their defence, in general, looked pedestrian and all over the place at times. We can exploit that. The main danger has to be the No 10, Shamir Goodwin, who looks very quick and was instrumental in both their goals, even though the first was wicked deflection. We have to shut Goodwin down. David Ijaha also needs to learn that you are never going to throw a punch and get away with it. Just stupid. COYS No images allowed -http://i44.tinypic.com/34o7ceq.jpg

Ah yes, Eastleigh. Watching that clip prompted me to look up the attendance. 536!!! I guess that they must have all been watching from the car park behind the camera!

"St Albans fans destroying our hoarding. What a lovely bunch"
I hope we do something to sort out what is going on here.
I'm not there but if anyone thinks our chanting is disgusting, and we are destroying hoarding then we as a club need to look into it

For me, that was the performance of the season. Superb. Their no 3 made 3 superb last ditch tackles to deny us a goal .

I'm not there but if anyone thinks our chanting is disgusting, and we are destroying hoarding then we as a club need to look into it When I suggested a while ago that swearing by City fans was neither big nor clever, I was more or less told to "get with the times". Which sadly shows the way things are going. Anyhow, it appears that the team did well, especially under the circumstances. Hopefully City can "do it" at home and get through to the next round.

Well done today. Down to ten men after 2 mins. Plenty of ROOSTER COGBURN on show. and we had chances to win it. upon leaving ground tonite 2 of the Angels fans spoke to me and said that a draw was the least we deserves. Nobody who was at the game will forget the performance of the team. Everyone put in a full shift and right to the end . And as for the hoarding and language! since when do we take notice of negative comments on away feeds/forums? Their fans were of course'Angels'. Maybe we upset them by singing all the way through the game- actually heard the Angels fans sing for about ten minutes. Nice to see some supporters with young kids in the Saints fans end as well. Itrust we will also read on the Angels forum about the audible abuse their playerswere giving the referee- and as for the fourth official1 What was that about. Well done to the Saints fans who created a great atmosphere today. tonbridge wont be fancying playing against a full Saints on Monday. Cracking cup tie! COYS

I was there standing at the side of the pitch watching from afar. The breaking of the advertising hoarding was an accident, they were banging it to create an atmosphere like they do at Clarence park and it came loose. It was a hardly a case a deliberate attempt to cause damage to others property. They even tried to fix it after they realised what happened. That's just a case of sour grapes as far as I'm concerned. In regards to fans chanting I'm not sure why this has suddenly become a issue, it's been the same since I supported City and it hasn't changed. I'm not a massive fan of swearing, having said that I'm not about to start telling people what they can and cannot do. Most of the city chants didn't even involve swearing anyway, if you can't tolerate swearing I wouldn't bother turning up to any football ground in the country. I'll post my views on the game after collecting my ruby murry.

Davymac raises a valid point. If Tonbridge fans are so concerned about swearing, they should start with there own players who were abusive to the ref the entire game. After all isn't it the players who are suppose to set an example?! I've probably just opened another can of worms....

Another outstanding team performance today, ranks alongside the win at Cambridge for the best of the season. That we were the better team for virtually the whole match speaks volumes for the commitment, skill and organisation of the lads. Couldn't see the sending off incident, but I was close to the assault on Danny Green by their no 9 which should have been a red, many others believe the same player also elbowed Danny shortly afterwards. (The quote on the Tonbridge forum that" St.Albans had the ref in their pocket" is quite amazing). Not really a day to pick out individuals when this was truly a team effort, but would like to praise Ben Martin for a colossal performance after quite a long lay off. Credit also to the management who stuck with two forwards until injury time - a courageous decision that could so easily have been rewarded with a victory.

you couldn't make it up. So basically a plastic cable tie that holds the ad boards, came off. YES that's right, one of those little cable ties that attach the board to the fence. i genuinely fear for the residents of Tonbridge, that emergency committee Cobra has still to be called, mind you the Night is still young. my thoughts and prayers are with Tonbridge at this most difficult time. #prayforTonbridge www.justgiving.com/cabletie
