I'm told Comley, Nwokeji and Graham all broke down on the way here, and therefore could not be included from the start.

Bazza net off for foul at a corner but wasn't him who did it, it seems.
Pen- scored.
2-0 to Corby.

I'm not at the game as there was train delays in London, but if what you say is true about Bazza being mistaken for another player that sums up the standard of refereeing at this level in a nutshell. I'm not gonna comment on the game as it would not be fair as I wasn't there but no Frendo, no points from two games.

Post match it seems Bazza did deserve the red card, but there was confusion as to whether it was Ward who actually committed the offence.

City started brightly enough and fashioned a few openings with some nice touches and close passing, but lacked a cutting edge and were nowhere to be seen when it came to winning the 'second ball'; only when Henry came on in the second half did they start getting really close to the goal. Corby had the more clear cut chances and Bazza made a smart save at the foot of the post in the first half to keep them out. However, he appeared to be culpable for their first goal after the hour and his sending-off (which looked harsh as seen from the other end) was the nail in the coffin. I see what you mean about the standard of officiating in this league, although the ref was at least even-handed in being awful to both teams. City clearly miss Frendo and did not look like promotion contenders tonight. The Corby fans and staff were friendly and the Steel Burger was delish. It's just a shame about the result.

A match that we should not have lost. We were slightly the better team for long periods without creating many clear goalscoring opportunities. The reason we lost was because we had a goalkeeper who is afraid of crosses. My first real look at Corcoran, and he showed some good touches with the ball, although I thought he could have worked harder when we lost possession. Thought the referee had a good game.

cant say that we started any better than on saturday as i thought we only just got in at half time without conceding even considering they had to make two early subs. 2nd half was no better and sadly two Bazza moments cost us the game. Clearly a mistake for the first and red mist for the 2nd. a dreadful overall performance against a very average Corby( yes I am aware they beat Bideford but nothing in their performance that would suggest that) that got us what we deserved. We look like a team fighting relegation. No thats not true cos surely a team in that situation would be better. and this aint down to Frendo et al missing as we have dodged bullets recently in our wins. Two back to back ugly performances. And to disagree, I thought the food was sh%*. Corby now making a run at the playoffs so another team in the mix . 7 points out of a possible 18 not promotion form is it.with the exception of Bideford , teams down to 9th place have games in hand of us but we do have points on board but we are in a very precarious position and really cant afford another loss. But cant see how we turn things around. Season in danger . Need a win badly.

Corcoran and Dean played cos of delay to others but are still not up to it IMO and the ref had a mare, particularly in the 2nd half, as did the linos. Some poor offside decisions. At least they were crap for both teams.

Tough result which makes what seemed a certain play-off spot less secure now. Hemel beating Poole tonight probably helps but the Stourbridge game on Saturday is now vital. Thought we started well tonight & players looked up for a battle in a fast paced half. Green had our best chance which he skewed wide before Bazza made two key saves before the break. Second half was frustratingly disjointed as there were an incredible amount if free-kicks which meant that once Corby has gone ahead Saints couldn't build any pressure. Henry, Comley & Nwokeji all guilty of trying to be too intricate around the box instead of shooting for goal. Couldn't see the Bazza incident from my end but it seems he was culpable as he has tweeted an apology. Massive game Saturday. COYS.

I actually thought we did quite well in the 1st half and probably just about edged it, with a great work ethic from everyone, however not a single effort on goal and that is just not good enough. Also, one superb save from Bazza from a 20 yard screamer, which was deflected. The 2nd half was virtually totally controlled by Corby, we seemed completely unable to retain possession and the rest has pretty much been covered by others, who were at the game. It was dreadful, plain and simple. We are scared to shoot, continue to try and walk the ball into the net and I am fed up watching it. The referee and officials were shocking, the referee in particular was pedantic beyond belief and some of the decisions defied logic. Not just against us but against both teams. As Saint said earlier, it was never a dirty game. In saying that, though, the officials did not lose us the game, we did. At half time, I seriously thought that we might pinch 3 points tonight and certainly 1 point. How wrong can you be? Altogether a very disappointing 140 mile round trip.
Stourbridge on Saturday. I don't even want to think about it.

I thought the idea was to strengthen the team for the run-in, we seem to have weakened it.
As ever we need a reliable, consistent and fit centre half with a bit of pace, and a tough ball winning central midfielder, and we should have brought in a striker who knows what he is doing to cover for Frendo.
