Watford fan here. I'm interested to know your thoughts on Saturday's game. How big a crowd do you expect to show up? What score do you predict?
I'm personally a little bit worried about our shaky defence coming up against John Frendo.

The crowd will really depend on how many Watford bring... We haven't had a Championship First XI brought down here for quite a few years now, so it'll be hard to gauge, especially with it only being organised late last week.
Frendo, despite us scoring 14 goals in two games, has only scored 1 so far this pre-season (I think) and hasn't really done much so far as we are yet to find a striking partner who he gels well with this summer.

It was a decent crowd last time we played Watford first team a few seasons ago, if it's promoted well we could be looking at 2K

I think that the club will be trying hard to get the local papers to give good coverage of it this week... Hopefully they agree to do so.

The crowd will really depend on how many Watford bring... Not to mention how many Saints fans turn up. Oh, and the neutrals... The observer has given some coverage already, as well as a report of the Wingate game. Hopefully the Herts Ad will catch up tomorrow!

My Watford quote was based upon the idea that Watford will probably bring quite a few, as it's a very close game for them (Of which, they don't have too many this summer) But if, for whatever reason, they don't travel in great numbers, then the crowd may disappoint. ...

I see that lot from down the road are playing against Watford on Thursday, a mate of mine who works at Watford training ground said that the full first team was playing on Thursday and those who don't get many minutes on Thurs and reserves will play on Sat. Must admit I was looking forward to seeing the big players but guess they will be playing on Thursday. Either way will still be good to get a championship side down at CP.

I had actually heard it was the other way round, with the full team playing us on the Saturday.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but Watford have promised both clubs a first team squad.

Makes far better sense, better team on a Saturday where there's more fans to watch.

Like Moriarty says, the fact it is a Saturday means they'll be more home fans and more Watford fans down than there would be on a Thursday evening, especially as the Wood game was only organised yesterday. Also, we're charging only £10... Wood? £12... Bargain.

We (Watford) have a large squad this season, so I expect to see a strong XI against both Boreham Wood and you lot.

It was £10 to get into Harrow Boro last night. Now that is a rip off.

Boringwood, Watford and Connie south sites point at a full strength side at the woooooood !

And both our website and the Watford one also mention the First Team playing here The Conference South article is just a reposting of Wood's article on our site. If we had sent the details of our fixture with Watford to the Connie South, they'd post virtually the same thing again.

Boringwood have announced the squad on their website - it contains all the big players. Can't somehow see these players playing 2 games in 2 days. My mate at the training ground said that the full first team was going to boringwood because of the facilities and set up. We are getting a mixture of the sides from tonight so the fringe players and some that played at Wealdstone last night, so not the First XI we thought we were getting . Apparently they wanted to play them on Saturday but they have Arsenal Ladies fixture on Sunday so no game can be played on Saturday. www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/watford-confirm-squad-for-friendly-tonight/

Watford have publicly been tweeting that apart from one or two changes, the squad on Saturday will be very similar to tonight's. Plus I've heard the same from us!

have we been given an "official" squad list yet then? cause im still being told its a first team squad which is basically the fringe players as the main starters are all playing against boringwood. I'll be disappointed if we don't get all the first teamers down here. Albeit their or shall I say Arsenals facilities are better but CP is a great NL ground.

As I said above, I expect first team players in both games, just not the same XI first team players! Expect Almen Abdi to make an appearance.

Last I heard, Watford planned on sending a similar squad (20 or so) to both matches, as they won't all be starting tonight, and they'll be various players over the two games.
It would be a shame that after telling us, and their own fans, that the squad will be virtually the same, that it won't be. However, Considering whet they've been saying, I don't see much that has changed.

If Watford have a first team squad of 20 plus some youth and reserves then over the course of both games I'm pretty sure everyone can expect a run out in both games
It's a first team fixture and that's what we'll get, plenty of teams will play multiple games at this stage of the pre-season for math sharpness

ive a horrible feeling we are going to get the kids, word is all the top stars started tonight against boringwood. 2 games in 2 days for a pro club is unheard of.
Fingers Crossed

Fingers Crossed If the players are going to be playing 90 minutes then I'd agree with you. But in pre-season friendlies it's likely only one or two players will be playing more than 45mins so the majority will be more than capable of featuring in two games in three days. As has already been said on here, we'll have to wait and see but I see no reason why there shouldn't be a fair amount of first team players. Perhaps not a full-strength XI, but it should be a first-team XI.

It won't be the kids, Watford have told the club that it will be a first team squad, while all the management team will be coming down along with all the Watford press etc.
