I think they'll be well over 1,000 at the fixture at Vauxhall Road. But will the £15 hurt the Boxing day fixture at Clarence Park? Quite possibly.

Not for me it won't: I'd happily pay double to be able to get out of the effing Xmas house with effing Xmas decs and effing Xmas TV full of effing tidings of great effing joy. Bah humbug! PS I hope "effing" is allowed, if not I'll change it to "blinkin'"

How long ago that 3-1 victory in Chesham now seems. Am I alone in being saddened by all the festering crap that is in the thread of the Wealdstone replay - admission price, the FA Cup 4th Round episode that we have 'put behind' us and 'moved on from', some minor tensions between players and fans that are getting blown out of all proportion, and all other frustrations that are being expressed - and, now we get some authoritarian balls (sorry...) about segregation on boxing day - season of goodwill and yuletide joy etc etc.. Jeez. How many years have we played against Hemel? How many times have we chatted and bantered with Hemel fans over the years - chatted over a beer, even - (are we going to pander to the recent antics of a couple of morons?) - some fans need to get things in perspective, and so do some of the management of this club - 'All Together Now' - it's a football match ...

How many years have we played against Hemel? In the league? Not many.
Lack of segregation at their ground is what caused problems last year.

Last year, we didn't exactly set the league alight but there was a fantastic atmosphere at the club and that is one of the reasons that we came good at the end. The relationship between players and supporters was fantastic. I've noticed this year, that there does seem to be a small handful of 'supporters', again maybe 2 or 3 who seem to want to unsettle the club. I can only imagine why they would want to do it. It's been interesting to read the threads over recent weeks. Barely a squeak from them after the good performances versus Weston, Basingstoke and Havant. Compare that to comments after some of the recent defeats. Most interestingly, these 'loyal supporters' usually only seem to be able to comment on the games and the performance of certain players after the YouTube footage has been posted on the forum. The games versus Concord, Whitehawk and Wealdstone at home spring to mind!!

So all supporters MUST have positive views at all times - I'm sorry if you don't agree with my posts but I firmly believe we have some serious issues right at the heart of the club and I worry about where the club is heading - big budget, low crowds, no cup money .....

I don't know whether I fall into the negative camp you're referring to there Boojiboy. I hope not. I try to be realistic and constructive even when being critical.
I agree with Cheshunt Saint that supporters have the right to be critical as long as that criticism comes from a good, well-meaning place.
I certainly agree that the atmosphere feels very different to last season - although there was DavyMac"s brilliant reference to the pub league after every defeat or draw!
A big crowd travelled to Chesham for a brilliant play-off final win but very few of those supporters seem to have been attracted to Clarence Park this season.
The issue is that goodwill is very easily squandered if you're not careful and most people are not daft. As others have said, it's not one single thing but a number of contributory factors. I won't detail them again but they all chip away.
I am a new fan, bitten by the bug and keen to see matches even if it means taking the rough with the smooth but even I have felt a bit miffed by certain things this season. Long-standing fans have every right to feel more put out. Casual fans have voted with their feet.
As I said in another thread, a club has to decide what sort of club it wants to be. I keep banging on about it but the price has raised expectations and increased demands. It may only be in a subtle way and it may only be noticed now, during the relatively sticky times, but it's a factor I'm sure.
As for the segregation, perhaps the police have insisted, although the club statement doesn't say that. It's a shame. It's not what I go to non-league football for. If I want to be separated from opposition fans because the authorities think we're boorish Neanderthals who can't be trusted to rub shoulders without punching each other's lights out I can go to a league match!

Re the current discussions and differing opinions: I've been disenchanted with the club since the days of Dave Howells which coincidentally coincides with the regime of the new owners. (yes I know the previous series of owners were not great and nearly brought the club to oblivion). I voted with my feet and I rarely go to home games and now the club are at a higher level do not have the opportunity of going to away games. This sadly means that my connection with the club (after 50 years) is at an all time low. I used to be a regular on this forum and I particularly enjoyed the old forum during the "EFM years" when the club achieved some success and were promoted to the conference. Now I do not post so much, mostly I suppose because I do not attend so many games anymore, but it must be said, also because there is something of a "nanny state" about the forum these days. If one does not toe the party line, interesting debate is not encouraged, rather a "how dare you" or "don't be so negative" attitude is adopted. In truth, I have no idea what the answer is, but the "togetherness" of the club appears to have waned. Maybe ultimately following any football club is going to end in disenchantment(or perhaps apathy). Still if the team win their next 4 games all will be sweetness and light. So what do I know?
