www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32194854Initially I thought this was a late April Fool's joke. The Conference will be rebranded as the National League. So, the Conference North and South will now be known as the National League North and National League South. Sounds a bit strange, regionalised divisions being called the National League but I guess the rebranding of all the leagues since the start of the Premier League have been nonsensical! It's rather Orwellian that the Third Division is called League One.

I like the idea of the league having its own TV channel - as long as it includes the Vanarama National League South, with the Saints occasionally featured.

I'm surprised there's a market for it to have its own channel, to be honest. Hopefully the clubs get a bit more money from BT Sport/Vanarama because attendances will probably fall, although only slightly. Also, it will be interesting to see if the number players signing with FL clubs goes up due to increased exposure.

I am not sure it will be a TV channel - rather there is a broadcasting company being set up to produce material to be used regularly by BT Sport (including highlights etc). I assume it must be a combination of Conference National games having been successful enough with their live showings together with a growing interest in non league football (and increasingly well supported teams such as FC United of Manchester heading into the National League North)
