Dont know where to put this as there's no match link - just predictions. Feel free to move it somewhere else! Should be a live commentary on mixlr.com/gosport-borough-fc/

Great result!! I'm going to wear my Saints scarf and shirt in Lithuania with pride this week. Well done the team and management. Says a lot about those who played in last 2 matches. I'm optimistic for next season now.

Well done City. Can we play Gosport every week?

Superb win, Saints against a potential play off team. So glad the managers stuck to last week's winning formula and that they were rewarded for it. Do hope we can keep the Green brothers, whose attitude and commitment is second to none. Perhaps the summer is the time to think about letting Lord Frendo go back to the level where he seemed better suited and rewarding the efforts shown by Thomas and Malcolm. If we can keep most of this team and have Beckles back, I don't think we have too much to fear next season.

This was very much a continuation of the Eastbourne game but against a far better side. Same starting line up with Lowe in place of Taylor on the bench being the only difference. Steve Wales went off early through injury and was replaced by Jo N'Guessan. We went in front from a good header by Simon Thomas on 23 minutes from an inch perfect cross from N'Guessan out on the right. Within 10 minutes, N'Guessan increased our lead further with a another header, following a goalmouth melee. All in all, a very impressive 1st half from the Saints. The 2nd half was a lot more even and after the Gosport goal, the pressure certainly increased on us, which made for a nervy final 10-15 minutes.
This was a great win and very good all round team performance. A big well done to everyone. Incredible workrate in the middle again from Jack and Danny Green with yet another colossal outing from MOM James Comley at the back, who was superb.
Onwards and upwards. COYS!

A brilliant all-round team performance. You'll see why below. What a difference a week makes.
Welch- Brilliant one handed save with 55 minutes gone keeps the score at 2-0, and he dealt with every delivery anywhere near his goal. Unlucky to not keep a clean sheet.
Kyriacou- Held the defensive line well with the rest, attacked well and was more than willing to clear his lines. Comley- Another excellent performance at the back from Comley, and post match Jimmy compared him to Gayle when playing there... I can see the similarities. Locke- What a step up he has made in my opinion from where he was maybe a season and a half ago. Made a number of crucial tackles and interceptions today. Chappell- After maybe one or two shakey performances prior to Eastboune, Chaps was back to his best, over-lapping with N'Guessan well, while doing his defensive job brilliantly.
Corcoran- Has really stepped up since Comley shifted backwards. I've always preferred him alongside Coms, but he's played excellently these past two games, and is the focal point of the midfield at the moment. Danny Green- Defensively impressive again today, covering a lot of ground, and not letting the Gosport midfielders have any time on the ball with his harrying. Jack Green- When you see him on the pitch, you cannot tell he's a 17 year old making only his second (?) start in the Conference South. Brilliantly composed on the ball, and always looking for that pass which will split a defence. Another 90 minutes for the lad. Jo N'Guessan- I had my doubts, I must admit. But wow, what an impact he made today. He just ran at the Gosport defence, terrorising them for large periods of the game, and they just had no idea how to deal with him. His running at the defence also seemed to help push the rest of the team to do the same. A goal and an assist. Not bad.
Thomas- Leads the line brilliantly, wins so many headers, and you can trust him to compete for any delivery into the box. Works very well when he has players willing to run off him and the headers he wins. Malcolm- Covered a lot of ground today, and while he didn't score, he did set up N'Guessan's goal. He was more than happy to run at the Gosport defence, and also worked well off of Thomas with the knock downs and headers which Thomas won.
Wales was unlucky today, who suffered a calf injury just 17 minutes into the game. Also, shout outs to the two substitutes. Kaloczi won some important headers in the final quarter of an hour, while Jamal Lowe ran at Gosport well and also held up the ball excellently in the final 10 minutes. It's great to have someone we can hit it long to and know he'll chase it and hold it in the corner more than easily. (However, his goal threat is also very important)
Why have I listed every player? just to show how brilliantly every single one played today, and it really was a team effort. We attacked well, created chances, while also maintaining a very strong defensive line, who were unlucky to concede a goal really.
Well done players and management, let's keep this up in the final two games.

Very encouraging reports from Boomer and Saint. I also liked AppySaint's alternative report via YouTube clip. Lets top 50 points for the season and build on this for next season.

Another great result. If we can win the last two games, we could finish 12th or perhaps even 11th, which is solidly mid-table and a real improvement on what we expected a couple of weeks ago.
I am now convinced John Frendo won't be here next season. I have nothing to go on other than that he's been dropped from the team and the likelihood that he is our most expensive player. I really like Frendo. He was one of the reasons I turned from occasional visitor to regular attender at Clarence Park last season, because he always gave the team a potent goal threat. And if you have someone who can score 20+ goals a season, you have a great chance. Frendo, of course, was more of a 30-40 goal man in the lower division.
But it has to be said, defenders are better in the Conference South and the Roy of the Rovers style centre forward is less effective. Frendo's lack of pace was not a problem last season because his anticipation and strength and his willingness to shoot whenever he had half a chance got him goals. But those half-chances don't fall so frequently in the Conference South and he hasn't got the speed to beat people.
Having said that, the job of finding replacements who are better is not an easy one, I just think that if he is our most expensive player, the management may consider that money could be spent more effectively.
So, I think he will go and I think both Saints and Frendo will be better off. He will be excellent for someone, and will probably fire someone to promotion from the Ryman Premier or Southern League Premier next season.
Just my hunch and don't get me wrong, if Frendo is here next season, I'd be very happy, I just happen to think the signs are there that the team is going to evolve in a different direction.

Great result. Didn't realise we were as big as 13/2 to win. Missed oppo as that was a huge price. Have to be happy with backing the National winner! I am convinced that the weight of expectations and pressure to avoid a relegation battle shackled the managers and players. the last two performances indicate this to me and begs another question. However, if we can get the core of a settled squad sorted before season ends we can surely progress next season, even tho we did get a flyer last year-which was vital at the end. Several pivotal incidents during season, especially El Classicogate. Not been the same since. A good result against a team hoping to squeak into playoffs and by sounds of it a deserved win and good all around performance. more of the same next two games, especially Saturday please. Great little video Appysaint. maybe an idea for next season. Well done to TMS and all fans who made the trek. COYS

I went and we played really well To get there it was bus, train, walk from Blackfrairs to Waterloo, train, rail replacement bus, ferry and taxi
I've been told that Frendo won't be here next season as well, shame IMO but we've styled our whole play round him and the last 2 games have proved we shouldn't have done that

I think you deserve a special award for that journey - you did tell me at the game but it's not until you see it in writing that you realise just how many hurdles you had to get over to make it to Privett Park! Sounds more like you were running in the Grand National....

When supporters make that sort of effort to get to see the Saints play, the least you'd expect is to expect some effort on the pitch - which is why the last couple of games have been pleasing. The wins have been an added and welcome bonus. Regarding Frendo - his goals certainly helped us win promotion. He's an okay player but wouldn't compare to Stevia Clarke, John Mitchell, John Butterfield and Bill Broomfield - to name a few. Time for team and player to move on. My views are s bit tainted after I made the 500 mile round trip to watch the cup match against Concord - only to find he'd gone to watch El Classico.

EFMTFTV, I'm kind of disappointed to hear there may be more substance to my gut feeling about Frendo but I can understand it. I wonder who else will stay and go?
