hello all, just thought i'd pop in and say hello before your visit to maidstone. wont be making any predictions, as i always seem to get them horribly wrong. just a few words to prepare you for when you arrive. there's plenty of pubs in town though i can't really advise too much on them as i don't go to them much, but i have frequented the wetherspoons for a pre match beer from time to time. it's right next to east maidstone station if any of you are coming down via victoria or a ten minute walk from maidstone barracks, and a short walk to the gallagher too. lots of maidstone fans in there, and very friendly.
also there's the flower pot which is very close to the stadium, and should be the venue of choice for those amongst you who like real ales. or maybe just head straight to the ground and have a few in the spitfire lounge (club bar) the tottenham match is on live there so will be pretty busy.
as far as the ground goes, the terraces at each end have very good views, and for me much better than the sidelines. there may be seats available too, but these cost an extra couple of quid, but fantastic views of the pitch and it does get lively up there from time to time. flags are allowed as long as they don't cover any ads (obviously) very easy going stewards, and a generally very welcoming place to visit. hope to see plenty of you down, it always adds a bit to the day when we get noisy away fans. have been looking forward to this one, as i mentioned in another post, i come from st albans originally so i have a bit of a soft spot for them. unfortunately i cant wish you luck for obvious reasons, but hope you all have a great day out at JWW. cheers and all the best.

Thanks Maidstone 1 - will you be showing the rugby at all? not sure, but i think it's just the tottenham match. though there are several screens and they may have it on one of those but without sound. if you go on our forum i'm sure someone will be able to let you know, or alternatively if there's any pubs that will have it on. |

I'm not convinced by Maidstone's current home form as they've only narrowly managed to beat teams at the foot of the form table and have only scored 5 goals in 4 matches. That'll teach me as we're bound to get a thumping now!
