Does anyone know if the game is segregated? I assume not as nothing has been put on either site but wanted to check.

no segregation, you'll be able to stand wherever you like. the seats however are normally full, but if there is any going you can pay a couple of quid extra to get one.

Encouraging performance. Cannot fault the effort but the lack of goal threat is real worry. Unsure if Crawford is the answer, but time will tell.
As for Maidstone, the match day experience is brilliant. Great stewards, great facilities and good humoured supporters.
On to the cup.

What a strange forum this is! A series of links to local newspaper coverage and video. Was anybody actually at the game from St Albans? Anything creative to say? This forum is dying a slow, dull and painful death

Harpendenstone I don't usually post my comments on here as I usually leave that to others to do. However, I will say that we played much better than the debacle at Whitehawk a fortnight previously. This time the midfield functioned for once, although as Jimmy has said in his post match interview, the 3G pitch does slow the game down. You can see the players seem to be conscious of taking an extra touch as it's so unforgiving of any miss-control. Coms and Locke at centre backs were excellent at marshalling the big unit that is May. Although Coms should be playing centre midfield as that's his best position. Otherwise the 5 man midfield hustled and closed them down stopping a lot of their passing game resulting in them hitting a lot of diagonal cross field balls to the 2 wide men, who Chappell and Kyriacou dealt with relatively comfortably. Louie worked tirelessly up front usually on his own against 2 of the best oppo centre backs I've seen for a while. Manny Parry especially could be playing a couple of leagues higher. So a disappointing result but certainly not one to cause sleepless nights like the Whitehawk game could do. A cause for optimism considering the fantastic facilities Maidstone have too and the funds that must generate.

I went as well I thought it was one of our best performances of the season
I was very heartened by most Maidstone fans I spoke to saying we were the 2nd best team they'd seen after Ebsfleet
Personally I would rather have been seen as the worst team they'd seen all season but had grabbed a lucky 1-0 win

Agree EFMTFTV. Its all about results. Bottom three with nine points and nine goals is a shocking and scary position to be in. Sounds like Maidstone may have had an off day in reality. Lets hope the team can take heart from not getting hammered. The distraction of the FA Cup gives us the chance to be positive about a game we at least appear to have a good chance of winning against a team as crap as we are at this time. Not exactly oozing confidence though. Big step up in effort and performance needed to belatedly try and kick start our season. COYS

Our away following was pretty healthy as usual, but thanks for your concern Harpendenstone ;-)
I guess modern technology has moved on in a way that the forum isn't always the main place people discuss the game. There was plenty of discussion on the train home followed by further analysis on facebook. I think everyone was pretty much in agreement that it was a promising display by the saints, but our lack of goals is worrying. Not much more to say really.

well, hope those of you that came down had as good a time as possible given the scoreline. nice to meet a few of you on the way to the ground, lucky for you too, as the nearest pub the way you were going is around 1/2 a mile away. anyway, a few words on the match itself, and i can honestly say that you didn't look like a team at the bottom of the table. we've played 9 of the top half teams now, and in comparison, to them you looked like a very good outfit. can't see you staying to close to the bottom if you keep putting in performances like that. some great support too, made some real noise in the townend and some great flags down the springfield road end too. like many others here am really looking forward to the return, as yours is one of the premier away days of the season, be nice to have a trip back to my old town too. good luck for the rest of the season, and hope you get through to the next round of the cup. cheers and all the best.

Cheers Maidstone1, it's an impressive setup you've got down there with all the food stalls! Looking forward to you guys bringing a decent away following to the park in April. I'll be surprised if you're not pushing for promotion!
