I'd personally like to thank the both of them for their efforts during their time with the club. They turned things around during a tough period, and brought some great days back to the club.
Reaching the FA Cup First Round proper twice in three seasons, winning the Herts Cup, the brilliant play-off final performance, promotion, and a very decent first season back in the Conference South.
However, you'd have to say that the time is right for them to go.
Thank you Jimmy and Graham, best of luck wherever you end up next.

I would agree 100% with that. Thanks for everything, James and Graham. Some great times and I will never forget the play off final at Chesham. Good luck from me with whatever you do in the future.

Agree with all the comments. In 3 years and with no management experience at this level, they have been successful. A promotion, 2 FA cup 1st rounds & a trophy run...
In resigning, they have been dignified - chowing when to go...
Thanks to them for all they have done & good luck for the future.

I also agree with all the thanks and Chesham was a memorable day in the history of this club. But. Where do we go from here?

A shame to see them go but how many managers would survive not just the results we've had this season but the week we've had. Losing 1-4, 1-3 and 0-4 in eight days makes it very hard to keep faith with them. The fact they have resigned is to their great credit.
There's been no improvement in results, or performances, and they can't really say they haven't had the opportunity to bring in new players. At times it's felt like there's been a revolving door at Clarence Park.
Jimmy's post-match interviews have been revealing in the sense that the message hasn't really changed. There's been no real explanation as to why results have been so poor. Saying that all we need is a bit of luck doesn't really cut it.
That doesn't mean they haven't done an excellent job until fairly recently. Promotion, the two play-off games at Cambridge and Chesham were excellent, reaching the FA Cup first round and establishing the team safely in the middle of the Conference South are what they will be remembered for in the long run. I am sure no one would doubt their commitment and hard work, either.
But, for whatever reason, it's stopped working for them. If the players really are good enough to survive in this division then something has gone drastically wrong. And if they are not good enough to stay in this division then this is undoubtedly a team assembled by Gray and Golds.
Replacing the managers now doesn't guarantee an improvement in performances or results but I do think the longer we went on as we were the slimmer our chances of survival.
A big few weeks for the club now. It will be interesting to see who gets the job. Harry Wheeler is in charge in the short term but it would be strange if he is the permanent replacement, given he's been a big part of the coaching set-up that's got us into the current position.

Jon Brady might be available, 7 years in charge at Brackley, but left them in September. Johnson Hippolyte, ex-Maidenhead boss, seemed able to keep them up for many years, but now replaced by Devonshire.

What worries me is that harry wheeler will be put in charge. Nothing against Harry. Think the club should have brought some one to help James and Graham out. Director of football maybe. Not sure the club has anyone who can choose a decent manager again as the chairman and owners are,nt footballers and never have been. Yes I know most chairmen aren't either , but other clubs have somebody in place that can advise. Maybe City do. Personally am sorry to lose the two managers.

I add my thanks to the departing management team for all that they have achieved for the club. Unfortunately they were ultimately found to be not quite up to the job. I do not know whether this was down to there tactical nous or their man management methods. Either way it was not working for them.
The big question now is what follows? I hope we get somebody with a proven track record at this level rather than gambling on somebody with potential just because they are the cheaper option.

Interesting post on Twitter from Lockey tonight :-
Not gonna mention names but over the last few weeks the clubs not been a nice place to be around. They know who they are.
This is amongst a number of posts strongly defending the work Gray and Gold have done for the club.

Sadly, we all have our time and G&G have had theirs. It has been a truly shocking season with no signs of how things can improve. Glad the guys resigned as im not sure who would have had the bottle to sack them! However, we need a miracle and questions have to be asked of the coaches as well The turnover in players and lack of a plan A has not helped. But then many have been saying that we just needed a bit of luck, service up front blah blah when what was actually being seen on the park was horrible. Again , players have to stand up and be counted and some of our.. players haven't got off their backsides at times. I believe that the change is two months too late and relegation is almost inevitable. Root and branch. Big thanks for some great days and results G&G but this is a results business and the on field performances have seen us get what we have deserved overall. No doubt some players will follow. Hope we don't end up going down but whoever takes the job is accepting a poisoned chalice. Good luck to them and G&G.

This is amongst a number of posts strongly defending the work Gray and Gold have done for the club. Some heartfelt stuff from Darren tonight, who really is a top bloke. I am also more than a little concerned about 'so called' supporters going on to Twitter, slagging the club off at frequent intervals and also slagging off players, when they haven't got the bottle to talk to players or club officials face to face. If I am not mistaken, the main protagonist here also initiated the perpetual vilification of Ben Martin last season, before Ben upped sticks to Boreham Wood. Sorry but such cowardly individuals are not true supporters in my book. See either twitter.com@bennymartin13 or twitter.com@Lockey168

Overwhelming support from fans, friends and colleagues since making our decision yesterday. We are very humbled, we left the club in a better place than we found it we feel. Myself and graham will make a full statement in due course.

A shame the way its ended but good luck to them both. Fantastic memories of the playoff games, the first 41 minutes vs Mansfield. They joined became managers at our
The biggest annoyance for me is one of the more experience members of the squad bad mouthing the owners the way he did - saying they have no interest in team affairs as long as we get a new ground etc.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but i think this is absolutely disgraceful for him to say things like this about the owners.
In my opinon he is lucky to be in the match day 16 let alone the starting 11.

JJ, why is it a disgraceful thing to say? We don't live in the former Soviet Union. People are free to say what they want, as long as they accept the consequences. If the owners choose to discipline or release the player then the player may change his behaviour in future but surely if someone holds a particular opinion there's nothing wrong with expressing that.
Maybe he has a point of view that the rest of us aren't in a position to appreciate. What if, shock horror, he's right?
And, given the strength of your opinion, why did you spare naming the player?

I'm not going to name any names but he is a very experienced member of our squad.
Also no, you cannot have a player bad mouthing the owners in such a way - keep your opinions to yourself on the matter - it creates a negative mood / in camp.
It was after the game on Saturday.

Very dignified statement from our former managers.
Did I also really read that the owners staunchest "defender", jj123, get upset at someone criticising the owners
