Think you'll find that many supporters share the same view about the owners !!

Is it a lack of professionalism to say what you think about an important issue?
Or is it better to air your opinion and find out what's what in the shake-up?
As a supporter of the club, I'd prefer not to have some sort of Pravda-esque fiefdom where opinions are suppressed. If there's dissent in the camp, bring it all out, air it in a grown-up way and then see how the land lies. If the player is out of order, he can be dealt with appropriately. If he's not out of order and he's made a point that deserves to be heard, then let's hear it.
After all, it is possible to air grievances in a professional way but it's tricky to judge because you haven't explained what was said and by whom. There's a lot of it about on this forum and around the club, particularly in times of adversity. Things are hinted at and whispered and only those who are truly in the know are allowed to know. An example would be the talk of Ben Martin having 'a difficult time' recently. Now, I am not suggesting that a player's personal issues (if that's what it was) should be bandied around, but if it's sufficient to mention in the post-match interview (as it was in this case) then it's important to explain the nature of the situation. Otherwise it's just gossip.
So, who was the player complaining about the owners and what did they say? And do they have a point?

What were Kaloczi's off field issues? And how does anyone know anything about anyone else's budget in the whole league?
John Still, Paul Fairclough, Ian Allinson, or Dean Austin please. Presumably one manager is cheaper than two so they are all within our budget!

I thought this thread was supposed to be about James Gray and Graham Golds resigning. It is interesting to note where the thread changed tack. Well not interesting, fairly obvious really.

There's absolutely no chance Still would leave Luton or Austin would leave Watford, but Allinson would be great if he could be persuaded.

Still's in trouble at Luton, but I'm not optimistic about any of those names. I have a feeling we'll look a little closer to home though.

Allison is unlikely to be interested the reason he left boring wood was The amount of time he was being asked to do as he has a good job with a brewing company and he literally just picked the side and figure headed on a Saturday he certainly wouldn't put the time in G and G did

I think we have to be more realistic with our hopes for our next manager. John Still is completely unrealistic and shouldn't even be mentioned given that he probably earns a fortune.
I think we need to prepare ourselves for a young inexperienced manager/coach being given the job.
But I think the owners have little choice but to employ an experienced manager if they really want the club to survive at this level.

Key for me is experience. Someone who knows the big, bad decisions to make and is willing to make them. Someone who's going to make the players sit up and realise they're no longer going to walk straight into the first team.
We simply can't afford to take a chance with someone and hope they grow into the job like Gray and Golds did. Completely different circumstances to last time we were managerless.

I think that whoever is appointed it will be a big reflection of the intentions of the owners. Like others I would like to see an experienced manager but also fear they may go for the cheap option!! I see George Borg is back in management....lol

James Gray has signed for Berkhamstead FC as a player, after working on his fitness in recent weeks.

Along with Mark Swales I understand Swales joined as coach (they got through to last 16 of FA Vase on Saturday and so have a chance of a Wembley final for Jimmy)

Maybe we should resort to playing at level 5. We may stand a chance of winning something then.

Jimmy & Graham did a great job. They perhaps felt they went a bit stale, but I would rather have them in charge now than the caretaker. I noticed Ian Allinson was at the Bishops Stortford game. He would be an amazing appointment. He knows the level, players in the area & is successful. First & foremost though he's a leader & motivator. I don't see that from Harry & Mark.

Rather than go for an experienced manager, I suspect that the powers that be, will be go for what they've tried before and had a little success with e.g. go with the existing centre half. Ben Martin for manager anyone?

Someone I know suggested that when the owners said we'd been inundated with applications, what they really meant is we have a very small postbox
I also wonder whether the same players who got us to mid-table last season aren't performing this season for reasons other than who's managing them

If its the same backroom staff and coaches did you really expect to see the team playing that different to the one James and Graham picked.
