A blinding result, which takes us up to 19th and a superb individual goal from Jonathan Edwards in 90th minute to get the win.

What a great -and deserved- result. Thought we dominated them when we played the ball on the ground, even though it was a difficult wet pitch. Great to see our forwards looking a threat. Theo worked hard and deserved a goal. Meade's speed and footwork caused problems all evening, and Edwards' directness and energy terrorised the Maidenhead defence. What a handful he is on that sort of form - and what a goal at the death! Come on you Saints.

90 mins plus and saints score a winner as we hung on in added time Yet could have made it 4. made had a great game and no surprise there were a few scouts at game from Norwich and Cambridge to name a couple. And is he on contract? Course not! Anyway. Great result against top half team. And we matched them all over the park. Mind you their defence was as dodgy as ours and at 2-2 I thought my predicted score had a chance. Fast paced and entertaining throughout but we deserved to get a result as for once we played to the final whistle and got the result which is what it's all about. Out of drop zone and massive game Saturday. 3 wins on the bounce and scoring goals.

A couple of posts on the Basingstoke Town forum tonight -
Tonight's Vanarama South result does us no favours as St Albans 3 - 2 Maidenhead now puts us 7 points away from the relegation zone and puts even more pressure on us to win on Saturday !!
Martin - Saints` win tonight makes Saturday absolutely crucial. We cannot afford to slip any further adrift - three points a must. The players are good enough, without a doubt. They have to find a way to win and I think they will.
We will see about that!

I ventured down to CP for only the second time this season (and despite the weather), to be pleasantly surprised. In the first half Saints more than matched a physical Maidenhead side, and rode their luck when the ref missed the most blatant handball I have ever seen in the box. Always looked threatening from set plays and just before Maidenhead equalised the second time Meade missed a sitter for 3-1 (or rather, forced a save from the keeper). In the second Saints passed the ball around well and created a number of chances. Meade again forced a great save from their keeper with a long range effort and Ben Martin headed straight at the keeper when he should really have scored from another corner. Maidenhead also missed a couple of decent efforts. The winner was well deserved, a great shot coming in off the left wing. Overall this was an entertaining match (far better than much of the rubbish I have endured in the Championship this season) played in difficult conditions. There certainly wasn't 14 league places between these teams and IF Saints can keep this form and team together then there should be no worries about relegation this season.

Very encouraging, and I had a feeling we might win this game, but it won't amount to much if we lose at Basingstoke.

Very impressed with Edwards - he looked dangerous every time he had the ball and on this showing he should be in the starting line up on Saturday.

What a great result. I was unable to make the game but was following in real-time on Twitter and practically jumped out of my seat when news of the last-minute winner came through.
This is just the kind of result that can kick-start the recovery. A match heading for a draw turned into three precious points. All of sudden we're out of the bottom three and looking upwards for the first time in months.
Fascinating to see such a turn-around so quickly following the departure of Gray and Golds. Okay, so the Oxhey Jets victory is not perhaps the biggest indicator but six league points after three really poor defeats is a dramatic transformation.
It makes me wonder what went on. Had Gray and Golds – to use that old cliché – lost the dressing room? Were the players pulling their punches until they got their FA Cup money? Or is Harry Wheeler Jose Mourinho in disguise? (Okay, perhaps not the best analogy today...)
