The term must win is overused in football but given Havant and Hayes results tonight we must win on Saturday to stand any chance whatsoever of avoiding the drop.

I retract my previous statement. Ian Allison set up to scrap for a point or nick all three at the end and that's exactly what we would have got however Welchy had another clanger. Who would be a goalkeeper... One thing I like is Allison and at the end of the game he made sure every player came over and thanked the fans. Despite not having a training session with the lads he still had the balls to try something different. I truely believe even if we go down he is the man to take this club forward. He has been with Borehamwood in the league below and built them up to what they are now.

saintreborn I have to disagree Welch was man of the match for us-without his heroics we could have easily been truly hammered, got a gubbing. The goal we conceded came from a poor defensive clearance and a mishit shot that bounced in front of Welch- I thought it is was going past. However, we did not get hammered and put in a full shift all over the pitch and had chances at the beginning and end of game. There appeared to be a good spirit on field and commitment to the cause. We lost and perhaps on overall chances and play we can have no complaints. Only wins from now on in as safety is starting to look further away with every game we don't win. And what a whingeing miserable lot Worlds End were. True professionals. Tom Daly would've been proud of their diving and the ref was clearly influenced from the off. Horrible . COYS

As ever. We can all view through rose-tinted but they made several shocking tackles and one that was truly dangerous. I notice he doesn't mention their constant haranguing of the referee or the half-time end of game tunnel of love incidents.

This was always going to be a tough ask and so it proved. Ebbsfleet are loaded in every position and it gives an indication of their strength in depth when two of the best midfielders in the division, John Paul Kissock and Jordan Parkes are relegated to their bench, together with Charlie Sheringham. We may have been second best overall on the night but our commitment and work rate was second to none and nothing short of 100% for the whole game. It makes me smile when their manager and supporters say 'We weren't at our best tonight, we couldn't get going' etc, etc. Total nonsense. The truth is we didn't allow them to and kept at them, harrying them the whole game. Not so very long ago, we would have gone down by 3 or 4. Not last night. We finished the last 10 minutes with 10 men, with Al Bangura hobbling and the goal that Ebbsfleet did score looked to be the result of a mishit from McLean. Great credit especially should be given to Charlie MacDonald and Michael Thalissitis for their tireless work up front last night, as well.
We are now finally beginning to work as a team and let's hope the turning of that corner is edging a little bit closer. I am really looking forward to Twerton on Saturday.
COYS!

no video highlights as Ebbsfleet don't allow it... That speaks volumes to me. If we can get a result against Bath today with 3 homes games after things could look very different in a couple of weeks.
