evening all, looking forward to our trip to yours tomorrow, looking to be a great match with so much at stake for both sides. hoping someone can help me out with a few questions about tomorrow though. firstly, is the car park at the station ok for spaces on a saturday? and how much is it. also, is the street parking any good round clarence park, or are there restrictions. also, do you allow drinking and smoking in the ground? and what is the food like? are the burgers any good? or is it better to eat before going in? is there any problem with football fans going in any of the pubs round there too? all and any advice is welcomed. cheers.

Parking at the station is £2.50 or maybe £3.00 now , pub on the corner of the park is the crown pub and ok. or get into St Albans early park at the station then walk into the town where you will have a choice of pubs and places to eat, Ground is only 10 minute walk from the centre, you could also try and park for free in Lemsford road and walk over the railway bridge into the ground. You will have to look for the ally but should,nt be a problem just follow the crowd. Have an outside bar/club shop where you can buy drinks ,

I've posted some advice on your forum regarding pub advice but plenty of pubs within walking distance of the ground. We will also have a local beer - 3 Brewers Golden Ale - on sale during the game at £3.50 per pint from outside the club shop as well as a range of drinks in the clubhouse.
There is a burger van in the ground but again plenty of choice around the ground / City centre. You can usually park in nearby streets and city station car park likely to have spaces as well.

nice one, thanks for the advice. station car park sounds reasonable, so probably go with that. not sure about the crown though, used to be a bit too sedate for my liking. is the boot and the peahen still open? or the fleur de lys?

Yes those are all open still. Personally I'd pick The Boot out of those 3

Definitely eat before you get to the ground. The Blacksmith Arms in Town is usually a good for a good pub meal. The mermaid and Victoria are both pretty popular amongst our supporters too.

I notice they missed the Harry Anderson strike, which thundered into the left hand post.
I felt, on the balance of play, that Maidstone were just too strong for us today. They won probably 75% of the loose ball in the middle of the park and made very good use of it. I couldn't fault our effort and against other teams, we may well have come away with 3 points. Of the six games we had to play before today, this was the hardest by a distance. Not all bad with the results from the teams around us either - only Weston won with a late goal and Basingstoke, Bath City, Hayes & Yeading, Havant & Waterlooville and Margate (8 defeats on the spin) all lost. Our goal difference in relationship to those 6 has also improved significantly over recent weeks.
Finally, another stunning strike from Louis. Superb.
Still all to play for.
COYS!

Sadly for us a result that sees us drop a place and probably needing to win next 4 games as its very close at bottom-sort of. two sloppy goals to concede IMO and we seemed lacking in midfield. Were this an early season game Id be optimistic as Maidstone looked a good unit yet we had chances. They got thrashed in previous game but must have had a shocker on todays evidence. Not a lot to say about our performance as its results only now and we cant afford any losses and the fat lady is warming up. With 15/21 points it shows the enormity of the task we faced as its only kept us 2nd bottom. However, our goalie, my controversial POS, made several stunning saves to keep us in it. COYS

COYS Maidstone were missing several key players against Chelmsford City on Monday. To me they were certainly one of the best teams we've seen at CP this season - not as good as Sutton however - but a shame that Anderson's shot hits the post rather than going in as I think that would have nicked the point for us. However all still to play for and I feel a very winnable game on Saturday at Maidenhead

Under the terms of the loan of James Comley to Maidenhead, do we know if he will be allowed to play against us next Saturday?
