www.stalbanscityfc.com/club-statement-18-09-2016/Police have become involved and taken away cannisters for forensic investigation. Statement refers to incident on 06/09/2016 which was the Poole Town game but I don't remember seeing any flares at the game ? There were at the Hemel game though under the Coca Cola stand.

Statement has been corrected and it does refer to the Hemel game on 13/09.

Forensic investigation? Don't they have real crimes to solve? Much ado about nothing

Forensic investigation? Don't they have real crimes to solve? Much ado about nothing This is not much ado about nothing and puts at risk initiatives such as our Young Saints programme. We believe the statement communicates our own position very clearly and completely support the club on this.

How is the Young Saints programme put at risk?
Is the programme at risk if an away fan lets off a smoke bomb? Why didn't we get CSI St. Albans in when Hemel visited last season (or was it the season before)

I don't know why we are so particular about these things, they go off all the time in Germany (and Clapton) and the like and make for an excellent atmosphere

Regardless of your individual view/s on flares etc the league club and police have a view/line and that is the one that applies. And ahad 43 you are right in that no action was taken against Hemel for either their pitch invasion or use of flares etc. In fact we were the club looked at in terms of our security!! However, I am not in favour of anything that jeopardises our club as we are not loved in St Albans by majority of local residents who would happily have us shut down. So its simple. Rules is rules and like them or not in this case abide by them or we could face the prospect of more intensive security/checks, at a cost to the club.

The problems we have are from the people who live around Clarence Park. All they care about is ensuring that the price of their property is not impacted by living close to a football club.
A number of them have no links to the area, so it is unsurprising they have no interest in the local club.
It is an issue that impacts large parts of the South East. Locals being forced out of their area by high property prices and people moving in who don't care about local clubs.

People/ fans keep on saying this but has any one ever spoken to any of the house holders in the streets round the park. The answers may surprise fans and the club. Most who brought a house brought it in the knowledge that a football club exists and really can not complain about it afterwards. Maybe the local households should pay for the club to be moved away from the park.

Kind of getting off the topic of the Agatha Christie book 'The Man Who Threw A Flare', and the fact that kids love fireworks as much as Hemel do, which doesn't have much to do with York Road NIMBYs

I totally agree, just a shame it's come to this, all political As trailblazers for this kind of thing, we were setting off flares back in 2002, when you had to make a specific trip to that sailing shop under Charing Cross station and couldn't just order them from a Polish webiste

Protect Clarence Park pressure group
aka
Make sure my million pound property isn't impacted by SACFC trying to progress as a club.
Is sad that not all the people of St Albans want to see us grow as a club.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37266929A smoke grenade was thrown onto the pitch following Stockport's winner While fans across the country were being treated to high-scoring action, some decided to take it upon themselves to generate the headlines. Stockport brought an impressive support with them for their 3-2 National League North win at Altrincham, but the result was marred by a delay in play caused by a smoke-bomb being thrown onto the pitch at Moss Lane.

EFMTFTV used to wear some horrendous flares and he's not been seen at a game for a while so maybe he has been incarcerated?
