Both the trust and SBYS condemned the price rises - They didn't listen Ian Ridley offered to pay the difference - they didn't listen The fans forum was full of vitriol towards the price rise - they didn't listen Boycotting fans met Ian Allinson - they didn't listen Boycotting fans decided to attend the game v Bath on NLD to say this is a price (£15) we are willing to pay and met Lawrence - they didn't listen There have been plenty of meetings between supporters and the club hierarchy in recent months and the price is still £18 and all we seem to get are a bizarre ever changing concession list and the weekly changing of which FL teams you can have ST's for to get in cheaper than our own ST holders It made me laugh to listen to recent podcasts with people saying they don't agree with the boycott but how do we get our point across when they clearly don't listen This post sums up the current situation perfectly. I’m fed up of being told that boycotting is an overreaction we’ve made every effort to contact the owners regarding this issue and received nothing in return, how else are we supposed to show our displeasure? Turn up pay the most expensive admission prices in the league and moan about it after we’ve handed over our money? Myself and four others, three of which were previously season ticket holders went to Colney Heath v Stowmarket in the FA Vase yesterday instead and I recognised at least another 5 supporters who were there rather than Clarence Park. But obviously the owners don’t care.

Yesterday's gate was given on the Twitter feed as 407. That's the fifth sub-500 home league gate out of 10 matches.
Number of sub-500 attendances (league) in recent seasons:
Last season: 1 v Weston-super-Mare 2017-18: 2 v WsM and Havant 2016-17: 2
The numbers don't lie. League form clearly also a factor but the crowds dropped before the team did.

Yep, the whole thing is a mess. I look around and there is an apathy around the place. It is a sort of vicious circle really, and it could just be that it's in the backs of the players minds, they are not daft, they must know what's going on, social media is all around us. It could just be that its affecting them too.

At the end of the day it's down to the owners they are the only ones that can change the situation, personally I now think they would probably have to lower it to £12 to get everyone back

I know a group of supporters that will be missing their first season since 1985 by not attending home games I know of supporters that were regular home and away in recent seasons who have started to watch teams like Hadley and Royston instead I know supporters, who aren't 'boycotting' but are refusing to go because their friends have stopped going
Every week this goes on the list gets bigger and the crowds smaller

I wonder what the entrance fee will be next season after we are relegated?

I wonder what the entrance fee will be next season after we are relegated? Will probably be £20. But if you book online and fall into the never-ending list of categories they dream up, you can get a ticket for £17.50.

And all because the owners shouldn't be asked to bankroll the club even though this ridiculous and stupid price rise is actually costing them more money every game
They should've nipped it in the bud a long time ago
There was a dialogue with the fans at the fans forum, I dunno why some secretive group (presumably full of spineless yes-men) needs to be set up now

Lawrence apparently was walking around 2 days after the fans forum telling people he felt he had won the room over, no doubt encouraged by yes men who either vanished down a fire escape or weren't even there

Pathetic that not a single one of those yes men stood up and backed the price increase at the forum - even though a fair few of them were sat at the front.

We now have a Christmas Cracker package on tickets prices for the home games against Hemel on Boxing Day and Hungerford Town on 4th January. Adults £25, Concessions £18, Under 16's £10 and Full Time Students £10. stalbanscityfc.ktckts.com/package/sta19202ccmp/christmas-cracker-2-match-packageGetting desperate now trying to attract fans back to the club. Boxing Day is traditionally one of the biggest gates of the season and they are reducing prices.

They are re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic - only £12.60 per game for two Christmas games, what a bargain! Not to mention the wonderful new app they've just released!
Wise up you clowns.

This reminds me of the owner of a business I worked for he would have weekly meetings with me tell me I was right all the time but keep doing different things rather than what I told him (even though I was right) and wouldn't want to do things the right way needless to say the company went bankrupt.

Ah, the Christmas cracker Too proud / stubborn to admit they've made a mistake on the £18 and put the prices back to £15 they now plan to lose even more money by offering two games for £12.50 that will be mainly snapped up by the people who are still attending this season
PEOPLE WILL NOT BE BREAKING THE BOYCOTT AND RETURNING BECAUSE OF THIS OFFER, because the week after Hungerford it'll be £18 again and the problem won't have gone away

It's two games for £12.60 each when you add on the booking fee
At least you're guaranteed high-scoring, free-flowing, top quality football

You would've thought Ian has more important things to do than take thousands of e-mail enquiries for some ridiculous £39.95 pre-game brunch thing (save a whopping £2.45 each if you pair up with someone)
Then again, nothing surprises me any more

I be shocked if this generated 1000s of email enquires. I don't really see who this is likely to appeal to. I cannot see a market for coroperte hostipality on boxing day morning - also its not really going to impress. Are any regular fans going to pay over 20 quid (minus price of ticket) for bad wine and a bacon roll?

Realistically, how many people are going to take up this offer? Say it's incredibly, unbelievably popular and 50 people go for it (unlikely, I'd say). That puts £1,997.50 in the till, less the cost of 25 bottles of wine and 50 brunches (whatever that may be). Drop the ticket price to £15 and attract an extra 133 people to watch the game puts the same amount in the till without having to buy any wine or cater for people. The core job for a football club of St Albans City's size is to get people through the door. As many as possible, as regularly as possible. *Then* start looking at the additional sources of revenue.
As it stands, there's me plus five family members and friends who won't be attending on Boxing Day. That's £90 lost at £15 per ticket. How many other groups and casuals are similarly being put off?

I can’t disagree with a single word of that, but unfortunately you’re preaching to the converted. The people who should be reading this are too bloody stubborn to admit that they’ve made a catastrophic error and that even if things improve on the pitch there are people who will not return, even if the pricing structure is “reviewed” at the end of the season.

If the team get relegated there will have to be a serious rethink. Even £15 in the division below would feel steep. £18 would be madness.
But right now the team need the supporters and the pricing policy has introduced divisions where there need not have been any.

Over at Wealdstone there is incredulity at the Saints pricing structure. The Stones have announced a three match package over Christmas of £20 for adults and £15 for concessions to see the games v Welling, St Albans and Slough. That’s an adult price of under £7 a game to watch the league leaders. But no turkey sandwich I’m afraid.

I don't understand how two successful businessmen can get it so wrong:
- TO not back down on the price increase - To take business advice from volunteers who quite frankly aren't qualified to be advising on huge decisions such as ticket prices

Latest is the half season ticket available from boxing day @ £115
Someone replied on twatter 'Your half price is almost the same for a full season ticket at other clubs.'
Even the post for this is wrong as it says 'For an adult half season ticket that's just £10 per home game for the rest of the season!'
We've got 10 homes games left so that's actually £11.50 per game, do the math

The half priced season ticket is better value than the full priced season ticket. I not arguing that it should be more but its admission that the intial pricing was wrong. The owners should make a similar admission and lower the matchday price
