This Jeffers chap seems quite useful. Maybe he should start a bit more often.

A good win on the road.
I wasn’t there though, so can anyone tell me if the injuries to Brown and James looked serious?

What was the crowd? Always nice to beat Chelmsford. I remember many years ago when we played them in a cup game and we had bricks thrown through the windows of our supporters coach.🙁

Yeh I remember that too, it was a long cold journey home with a window or two missing! The funny thing is though, they beat us! What on earth were they feeling aggrieved about?

I think we were the noisier supporters. I think that we had a mob from the Great Northern pub who were up for a fight

SJ is a player you build a team around, not someone you leave on the bench. First game he starts, he wins us the game.

I know he was fairly anonymous in the game but he did actually start the game vs Torquay United. I just don't understand why Noble isn't getting credit - with or without Jeffers he's getting decent results in a tough league whilst also rebuilding a squad to play football his way which I think the majority of fans enjoy - especially as I've come to realise that this forum is absolutely not representative of the fans who turn up at Clarence Park

I’m not sure it’s that he’s not getting credit but amongst the supporters I speak to there’s a sense of frustration with the continued benching of Jeffers and the at times slow and laborious passing game. We’ve spent a lot of the season passing the ball around at the back, followed by a big hoof up the field for Weiss to run onto it. There’s been some moments of quality, but they’ve been more a case of some individual bits of quality/moves rather than a continued sustained threat in attacking areas like I felt we had yesterday with the two upfront.
Anyone who’s watched us in recent seasons knows that when Mitch & Shaun play together we’re at our most dangerous, yesterday being a perfect example. The fact that we’ve had to wait until we’ve played 10 games for them both to play 90 minutes together to most fans seems a bit ridiculous and let’s be honest it probably only happened due to Rasoulos absence. For me we were the most dangerous we’ve looked all season and could have comfortably scored 4 or 5 & it was the most enjoyable game of the season by far. I’d be excited to see Rasoulo come in & play with both Mitch & Shaun, as that’s the making of a serious attack.
I’m not convinced the league is any stronger in regards to quality than last season. There’s certainly bigger clubs with more spending power, but I’ve yet to think any side hasn’t looked beatable if we’d played to our potential & carried the attacking threat that we did yesterday with Shaun in the side.
Hopefully we can get a few bodies back & continue with yesterday’s attack moving forwards but I worry that we’ll revert back to just Weiss upfront with Jeffers back on the bench once Rasulo returns.
Just my take though.

Is there any news on the injuries to both our full backs? As I understand it Jack James went to hospital.

What on earth were they feeling aggrieved about? I wasn't following the Saints back then, it was before my time as a Saints fan, but l did go to their New Writtle St ground as a Dunstable Town fan, but l can't say l witnessed any trouble there. They were always a good side thou and got good gates

Is there any news on the injuries to both our full backs? As I understand it Jack James went to hospital. I wasn't at the game yesterday, but it does sound like a bad injury to JJ, let's hope he recovers as soon as possible, and of course our other lad who got injured. Indeed, we need all of our sQuad available all of the time, to compete in the best way possible, but it never of course works out that way with injuries sustained in the game nowadays. We need all our injured players back as soon as is possible. But we were good in the loan market last season, if that's something we need to dip into again this season then so be it, let's hope we can find a gem or two there again, if we have to. How did the new boy play, who we signed from Tonbridge Angels ?

The thing is, now, getting back to Jeffers now for a moment. Was he played from the start cos of injuries ? And what happens for the next game, will he be benched again ? Cos, if he is benched again, he really will be wondering what he's got to do, to start games, that'll be a real slap in the face if he's benched again ?

Rasulo and Weiss could definitely play close to SJ as 10s. Outnumber teams behind their midfield and attack from wide and deep with JJ and Wyatt
