Playing like we did yesterday will reduce the crowds, lots of beer and food aren't the answer. On the field is. We are going nowhere.

Even after 5 pints, you can see that the additional revenue hasn't been reinvested into the squad. The fact they are trying to force out SJ to save costs speaks volumes.

I don't really believe we are not playing Jeffers to save on his bonuses. It could only be a couple of hundred a week and we be spending more than that on his replacements. It does seem strange that we still not playing him despite changing the system. It had a certain logic when we were playing one upfront but none whatsoever now. It sort of feels personal to be honest, that Noble just determined that to play him. The thing I would say is if as manager you take counterintuitive decisons you need to win or you can expect criticism.
I argee with most of what been said but I think important that we don't overrate the oppoistion eevry time we lose. Before yesterday game Eastbourne had won 3 and lost 6. They are, compared to other Con South teams, quite a poor side. It is a game you need to be winning. When we lost at home to Torquay people said they were pleased we competed against a big side with more resources. But our result expected Torquay have won 5 and lost 4. They have not been great this season. At home against them a playoff challenging side needs to not just complete but actually get something- a draw at least.

I think the problem stems from the fact that the conference national is worlds apart from what we play in. And most sides in this division see it as a bridge to far. Torquay, yeovil and maidstone may want to get back there, but will struggle if they do.so our aim is to stay where we are, albeit we are hardly play off contenders.

Well, Nobbys feeling down, and Quite rightly so, after that defeat, we all are, but he touches on "being down to the bare" bones, but l wonder just what the situation is with each and every one of our injured players ?? Apart from Akinola and Wiltshire, who must be out for the entire season, as they are not even named in this seasons squad, and Zane, who we know is out for a good while, how are all the other ones getting on. I know it's not easy, but is Noble looking at the loan market ?

I bet he'll play against Hemel tomorrow night, then he'll be back on the bench on Saturday, you can just see it happening !

Do you think the conspiracy theory of saving goal/appearance bonuses only affects league games?

I can’t accept the idea that Jeffers is not starting to avoid paying him bonuses. If there are bonuses for appearances and wins then surely he’ll receive them whether he plays 9 minutes or 90! The only bonus that would be saved is if he doesn’t score which is detrimental to the results and could cost Noble his job.
Jeffers not starting has to be for tactical reasons or a breakdown in relations between him and Noble.

Jeffers not starting has to be for tactical reasons or a breakdown in relations between him and Noble. I can't ever see Noble losing his job, not for the foreseeable, anyway. As I've said before, the owners are comfortable with their cheap and easy appointment, who else is out there who would be a comfortable and easy appointment as Manager, and Noble came from within, l don't see anybody else "within", that could do the job. The owners are more concerned with off field issues like building up food and beer outlets, than the actual team itself. As I've also said before, our owners haven't got much experience of hiring and firing managers, either. No, the only way Noble would go, is if he, himself has had enough of the job, but what are his expectations and does he feel he is achieving them ? He always comes across in interviews as downbeat, l always wonder just what he is feeling at times, deep down. Look, he hasn't done bad for us, apart from the Jeffers situation and some tactical issues, he is probably doing okay, given what he is working with, but l think, at the end of the day it may well come down to how he views the support, or lack of, he is getting from the owners. Will he start to think "hmmmm all this investment off the pitch, and l need to strengthen my sQuad, l need a bigger playing budget, but I'm not getting it" Well, until anything changes, and l can't see it in the foreseeable, this is it for us, we're in easy street, we're not doing massively badly but we all hope things do improve and by the looks of things, it'll only be when we get our key injured players back

This all sounds a bit too reminiscent of Dulwich Hamlet to me with all their food outlets and off the field activities. Perhaps someone could remind me in which league they are now plying their trade (and struggling in it), despite their 3,000 plus crowds last season.
