So who is going to leave the club first - Jeffers or Noble ?

Noble overall record is still good but some of his comments are bizarre. In the interview he suggests we deserved at least a draw. Football may be game of opinions but Aveley were clearly the better side in the second half and deserved the win. We constantly tried to play through their press and failed. I take the point that playing out from the back is probably what we should be aiming to do but if its clearly not working you don't just stick with it regardless, you mix things up. If he going to be success long-term he needs to be flexible not rigid in his thinking. The Jeffers is just ridiculous.
I also did not like the way he semi digged out the rookie keeper in the interview. Obviously Johnson straight back in when fit but don't see how the manager not supporting his publicly helps the kid.

Totally agree, if I want chicken wings, I can go to KFC. The fans are being taken for a ride. Our best player is being forced out to cut costs. If you really think the owners are trying to cut costs, why have we just signed 3 players mid season, with one being Partington whos national league and football league experienced so must be on a fair packet also we signed wyatt at the end of pre season who must also be on a fair amount, also we have one of the largest squads we’ve had in years with 22 players, also if we were trying to push Jeffers out surely he would've been sold in summer as if he is as good as you guys believe surely loads of clubs would of been chasing him According to the podcast we did try and sell him in the summer but asked for too much money. While a fine player Shaun is on decent money. Bit much expecting a club to take on his wages and give us a fee. Also on the podcast was a logical reason why he is not starting. There is a clause in his contract whereby a number of starts triggers a 3rd year. I not saying it is necessarily owner driven. Maybe Noble and him just don't get on but I do think we are trying to force him out. My point to Noble would be if you going to bench our only really consistent goalscorer you better win or else it be you not him going.

So who is going to leave the club first - Jeffers or Noble ? I'd say Jeffers. At the end of his contract, of his own accord, cos of the way things have been going and especially if there has been any issues between him and Noble, and or the Club. As far as Noble is concerned, he won't go unless pressure of the job gets to him. I think he'll still feel that he is learning his trade still, as he was appointed from within, he knows the owners and he knows how they work, everything is comfortable all around, cos they are trying to make the Club sustainable off the field, seemingly too much more than on it, and as far as the league goes, we will comfortably always be just a NLS Club, for the foreseeable future l can't see us going up and l don't think we'll go down. The owners aren't particularly experienced in appointing or sacking managers either, and who else is there from within who would come in, the cheapest option for them ?

So who is going to leave the club first - Jeffers or Noble ? ....and also as far as Noble is concerned of course is, what's his ambition, what were his plans and targets when he first took over, does he feel he is achieving them ? Its hard to tell with Noble, he often comes across in post-match interviews as down and despondent, or just full of pure relief, but mostly the former, and hes not a man of many words, often repeating words. If not, if one day, perhaps during a bad run of results, he might start to think about leaving, but to what, within football ? He wouldn't want to look lower than our level as he has his whole managerial career ahead of him, maybe another NLS Club might see his potential and give him a bigger budget to work with. But he is what we have at the moment thou, he hasn't done badly since he took over from Allinson despite some, arguably, nieve and inexperienced decision making, COYS!

I don't see Noble as an upgrade on IA.
He is the bargain bucket option, and allows the owners to focus on craft beer and chicken wings.
An experienced manager wouldn't let a contractual dispute (money saving), impact who he selects.
The owners just hope the fans are too drunk on craft beer to see the reality of what is going on.
Every time the opposition see our team sheet, they must get a huge lift knowing our best player isn't allowed to start to save money.

As I have said before it's a results based game, at best we are midtable. People aren't fooled by all the hospitality that's available. What's on the pitch matters most.

Well as a BIG supporter of St Albans, Chelsea, and the England cricket team this has been a v bad weekend. Re The Saints, Nobby's comments re Shaun in the aftermatch interview are a typical 'No comment' when you know you are in wrong? I'd love to meet Nobby. Lawrence and whoever they want to bring with them, for a pint with myself and Ian Rogers in the The Speckled Hen? As supporters of over 50 years we we would just like some TRUTH!! (Sorry Ian!)

The trigger clause in SJ'contract is the issue, and the financial impact it would have on the playing budget next season. So we get given a cart horse as his replacement, to save some money.

Presumably the gamble was that someone would make a decent cash offer for Jeffers, but St Albans have overestimated his value and are now stuck in a bind.
They can't play him too much because it'll trigger another year, so the best case scenario is to leave him on the bench, pay him his basic wage and then see him leave for nothing at the end of the season. Or, hope someone comes in with a somewhat acceptable offer enabling Saints to cut their losses.

Or maybe the real best case scenario is that we reintegrate him properly into the side and make him the focal point of the attack for the next 18 months. A problem with not playing him is that it makes harder to sell. He obviously going to take a few games to get up to speed for a new club. Bit of a catch 22. One thing I don't know is where Shaun lives and works. If he has got a decent day job in London he not going to want to sign for a team from the back of beyond.

Yes, you'd think that is probably the case The player had the security of a 2 year contract and the club had a sell on price, worked well for both parties. I don't know how much they wanted for Shaun but I did get told that LL priced him out of a move to another club over the summer I suppose a lot will now depend on if Shaun is happy with picking up his wages and not playing but the club could seek to re-negotiate the 'extra year' deal so he can start, or start someone else and sub Shaun on every match after 2 mins

He joined us because it was nearer to his home than Chelmsford I'm pretty sure someone said he lives more towards the Midlands than South I also believe he is a refrigerator repair man, so priceless if one of the fridges in our many bars break down

Bring back Jeffers and drop the cart horse, Akanbi. Make St Albans City FC great again.

As long as the chicken wings and beer are good, never mind about the football!
