I'm not going to repeat the points raised above as all who were at the game would largely agree. What I find disappointing is that there are some teams & managers who will always look to quickly close down the opposition & stop them playing (I don'r mean unfairly). Quinton at Hemel is one yet we still continue to play our ponderous passing game knowing that we will have no space & inevitably lose the ball. Does Nobby not see that & consider a Plan B? Sadly it seems not. We can all look forward to much of the same on New Year's Day!

What are you thoughts on the 2 yellows for SJ9 and the potential penalty? I have watched the highlights back in slow motion and think the ref got all the decisions correct.
1st yellow was fair. He knew what he was doing when throwing the ball away. Wasn't worth it.
2nd yellow. He does have his elbow up and does appear to catch him. It is unlike Jeffers but given his lack of complaining, I think he knew what had happened. Arguably, could be considered at straight red if the ref is saying that he did catch him with a deliberate elbow.
Penalty, rasulo goes down very easy, appears to be limited (if any obvious contact)

Personally I thought both were soft, the first was a bit petulant but there was at least two other incidents in the games where a Hemel player kicked the ball away which were as bad, if not worse, which went unpunished. If a ref wishes to penalise those sort of incidents then you need to have consistency and dish out the same punishment for all.
I’d much rather those incidents just ignored and the players told to grow up. If it’s an absolutely blatant smash away of the ball at the end of the game to waste time, perhaps that’s a bit different but dishing out yellows for dropping the ball about 2 yards behind the keeper seems unnecessary & I wouldn’t like to see those given either against or for us.
The second was hard to tell, again it looked very soft & wasn’t accompanied by any real appeal by any Hemel player which to me suggests there was very little in it. Certainly wasn’t a straight red & a second yellow was soft.
The incident with Gio was similar to what I felt at the time, you see them given some weeks & not others. Probably went down a bit easily but there probably was a clip on the back of his heel. I didn’t feel it was a dive, but wouldn’t have necessarily expected a penalty, especially given the refs previous decisions against us.
I thought the ref at Dartford showed how you should try to officiate at this level, let as much go as possible and let the game flow. The Boxing Day ref took the absolutely opposite approach & for a game which I didn’t feel had a bad challenge in it dished out what was probably nearing double figures of cards.

As for the mistake for the first goal, that was even worse than I thought at the time! Really showed a lack of experience to not just follow the ball and either push it over or take a comfortable catch.
MJ has been warming up the past few games, albeit not appearing to be doing any glove work, but hopefully he’s not too far away now. He really was in outstanding form before his injury so hopefully he can have a bit more luck moving forward and be injury free.

The referee was very poor and, for me, totally out of his depth. He should not be officiating at Step 4, let alone Step 2. He clearly didn't realise he had already given Jeffers a yellow card earlier and took an age before he eventually pulled out the red card.
Two of the softest yellow cards I have witnessed in a very long time. He, basically, wrecked the game.
Very disappointing.

'If this', 'if that', 'does appear' etc. Never worth 2 yellow cards in a million years and if the referee had realised sooner that he had already dished out the first, there is no way he would have given out the 2nd and Jeffers would have still stayed on.

Having now watched the highlights, the first yellow was even softer than I thought. Hard to tell what happened with the second yellow, but looked like he accidentally caught the hemel player with his hand, so also seems harsh. Rasulo does look like a possible dive, but wouldn't be surprised if there was some contact.

The ref was way out of his depth.
Unfortunately pub level officiating will lead to some fairweather fans not returning.
More needs to be done to raise the standard of officiating in the NLS.

Super harsh yellow cards. if everyone was booked for incidents like the first one their would not be a player who didn't get a suspension in a season. The second card, not even sure what Jeffers did
