One point from the last 6 games(potential 18 points) does not make good reading either.

Shocking form at the vital time of the season. Luke Garrard has effectively been sacked from the Wood with same form despite his success. Jon Meakes is clearly not the manager to take the club forward nor are many of the current batch of players.

We are a midtable side, nothing better.

Strange game. It was a lot more entertaining than recent matches and we looked threatening up front, but our defence was absolutely dreadful. Most of Worthing’s goals were avoidable but we kept shooting ourselves in the foot.
And so the dream died. To be honest, I’m not too surprised as, apart from a run in the early New Year, we never really looked like a promotion-chasing side. The terrible injury list in the autumn didn’t help, but all in all I feel we were just not good enough overall.
As for the future, whether Jon Meakes is the man to take us forward is debatable, but I believe his contract is until the end of next season so I don’t expect a change in the summer. Our recruitment this season hasn’t been good enough and if we are to make a challenge next season there will have to be a major overhaul in the squad.

Hopefully we can stay in Conference South next season.
I don't believe the owners want us to go up.
The increased attendances hasn't led to an increase in spending on our team.
I imagine next season will follow a similar trajectory unless an overhaul of the team is made this summer.
I imagine the owners will continue to focus on 'Clarence Park Experience' over establishing a team that can get promoted.
Lots of fans have no interest in drinking craft beer and chicken wings.

This season we have the biggest squad we have had in years - Wyatt, Partington, Jeffers, Rasulo are all players who would be on large wages and its so stupid thinking the owners dont wanna go up, how many times do they have to say it and do you see how down they look following defeats

A game that probably summed up our season really. Some glimpses of quality but not quite good enough in any area of the field. Two many missed chances, and too many mistakes at the back against a team so much more clinical than us. The game changed in about a 30 second period where Gio fluffed a 1 on 1 chance & Worthing went straight up the other end & scored.
Two teams similar in setup & how they wish to play, just one much better than the other. Worthing clearly have issues at the back given the numbers they concede but when they’ve scored 100 goals it makes it less of a worry. We concede similar numbers but we need to find more goals in the side.
An interesting pre-season in store to see who stays & who go’s.

What a disappointing end to the season. Looked certs for the play-offs, then take one point from the next six games !! Some slight consolation is that Kiddermisnter have been relegated, so National League North is off the agenda for at least another 12 months.

Well, it was a poor result in the end, wasn't it, and one that has put paid to our play off hopes once and for all. We worked hard, some of our football was great, but errors at the back cost us dear. Looking ahead, well, Meakes is clearly going to be our Manager for next season if his contract is until the end of next season and it is what it is. As he was also appointed from within, like Noble was before him, we'll have a manager who won't rock the boat when given the playing budget for next season, as he'll probably understand the Clubs financial situation like Noble did, the playing budget isn't likely to be much more than it was for this season, the owners, arguably, won't be expecting miracles as they seem to be more concerned with sustainability in other ways, and l think promotion to the National League may worry them deep down if they were honest about it. All in all, personally l just don't see a lot changing for next season, the same level of manager as Noble was, and then Meakes after, and the same level of sQuad, as it'll probably be the same playing budget roughly, as last season. Of course we don't know what our sQuad will comprise of next season, yet. To sum it all up, l fear "same old, same old" for next season. I truly wish l could be more positive, but perhaps without a decent recruitment system and structure, to try to bring the best to CP, a manager like Steve King or Paul Doswell, a manager who's done this and done that and got the T-shirt, I'm just not sure if we'll ever be much better than we have been over the last few seasons

In particular the loss of Moore and Stanley who were never really replaced. Our style does need not really work without effective attacking fullbacks. The early season comments have proven correct. If promotion had been a priority for the owners they would not have allowed this to happen. Of course we have some players on decent wages, if we didn't we would get relegated. We have the 4th highest attendances in the league. It not unreasonable to expect a top 7 budget and for us to compete for a playoff spot. We not only going to miss a playoff spot but we going to do so by a margin. Either the owners have not set a top 7 budget or they have appointed management who cannot get fair value from investment in players. Either way they are culpable. I don't think fans are actually demanding promotion just that we actually compete for it- if we made the playoffs and then failed I think most would be happy with this. To be honest I never see John McGown at the ground, were does he seat so I see the sad expression on his face when we lose?
