It was nice to see Clarence Park for one last time this evening, who knows what bits will be missing when we come back next season.

Well, 3 points and a clean sheet, such luxuries that we haven't had in a while, so gratefully accepted. We've nothing to play for other than pride, so let's go to Tonbridge and earn 3 points there as well. COYS

Well, 3 points and a clean sheet, such luxuries that we haven't had in a while, so gratefully accepted. We've nothing to play for other than pride, so let's go to Tonbridge and earn 3 points there as well. COYS I thought we were Ok tonight. Not amazing but we created the better chances and deserved the win. I still think we need to be more incisive with the ball. Also, we seem to have almost a ideological commitment to playing out from the back. Almost every team now attempts to play out so I not suggesting it's the wrong approach but if you playing tier 6 rather than for Man City you probably need to recognise that you need flexibility. Sometimes we try and play out when its really not on, end up getting ourselves in trouble and someone just whacks into touch under pressure. Unless you got defenders who are really top players on the ball you got to be adaptive. When you got a bit of space play out but know when to just hit a channel ball. Players need told to think on their feet, play the situation, not follow a rigid plan.

Agreed, playing out from the back causes to many problems, and we end up being penned in our own half, as all the opposing players are in our half. So it goes sideways backwards sideways always to predictable and pointless.

That was better. We showed a lot more aggression going forward and if it wasn't for Hampton's excellent keeper we would have won more convincingly. It wasn't perfect of course, our defence still looked fragile, but everyone put in a shift and MJ didn't have too many saves to make.
I think overall we're going to finish where we deserve to be, upper mid-table. On our day we can match anyone in the League but we haven't had the consistency needed to put in a serious promotion challenge. It could have been a lot worse though, look at Dartford!

Hampton didn't really impress me last night, defensively l didn't think they were that great, their strength was in midfield and attack l thought. We deserved it just about, l think, but our passing the ball back, sideways, then forward etc, the "tippy-tappy" stuff, got us into trouble a couple of times, as it has done in the past. It invites the opposition onto us, and as has happened so many times in the past, it invites pressure onto us and invariably the first goal of a game. We used to start games off like that down at CP, more so under Noble than Meakes, althou it has been happening under Meakes as well, but it's okay if you've got the confidence to deal with the pressure you're bringing on like that, get forward and have the outlets to then create
